Reigokai: Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It is very late, but I really wanted to get this out. Here’s hoping we have a wonderful year!
Anyways, enjoy the chapter! 😀
——
“Thank you for your hard work, Laila-san.” (Makoto)
I said as I helped clean up after the wedding ceremony.
Strictly speaking, it wasn’t something the groom should have to do, but considering that it was my Goddess, Noah-sama, who stirred up the event, and with the remnants of both Noah and Naia-sama, the Moon Goddess, lingering everywhere, we couldn’t leave things as they were. If ordinary people accidentally touched those remnants, there was a risk they might go insane.
So, the area where the Goddesses had descended was being handled by Laila-san, other supporting angels, and me.
We just finished the cleanup.
“No, no, Makoto-sama. It was a lovely ceremony. And Princess Sofia looked stunning.” (Laila)
“S-Such kind words, Angel-sama…” (Sofia)
Princess Sofia was standing beside me.
Though she wasn’t directly helping, Sofia couldn’t bring herself to rest while the angels were working. Such a diligent person.
“Fufufu, you two are a perfect match. This will ensure the stability of the Water Country. Now all that’s left is for you to be blessed with children soon. I’m sure you’ll have a dashing Hero or a beautiful Oracle!” (Laila)
““Wha–!?””
Laila-san made a crazy comment.
Technically, it wasn’t outrageous to say, given we were officially married now, but…hearing it from someone who looked like a young teenager made it quite embarrassing.
“Children are cute, you know! My own son has already grown up. Even though I can’t be with him, I watch him from afar. He’s still dear to me.” (Laila)
“You have a child, Laila-san?!” (Makoto)
“Yes, he’s about the same age as you, Makoto-sama. I’d love to introduce you someday☆.” (Laila)
“The same age?!” (Makoto)
She looks younger than me!
“You don’t look the part at all…” (Sofia)
Sofia was just as stunned.
“Well, I can’t go into detail, but since my husband is human, my son is a half-angel, half-human. It’s fine to share this with you, Noah-sama’s Apostle, and Sofia, Eir-sama’s Oracle, but please keep it between us.” (Laila)
“I-I understand…” (Makoto)
“All right.” (Sofia)
There was a lot to process, but at least I learned that this youthful-looking angel was married.
“Well then, now that we’ve cleaned up the remnants of the Goddesses, we’ll be returning to the Divine Realm. Fufufu, tonight is your wedding night, isn’t it♡? Do your best, Makoto-sama! Make sure to eat lots of energizing food☆.” (Laila)
What kind of angel casually says things like that with a smile?
“…Ah, yes.” (Makoto)
“…Um, have a safe trip back, Angel-sama.” (Sofia)
Sofia and I saw the angels off, our faces tinged with red.
“………”
“………”
Silence fell between us.
Laila-san, who had seemed like a competent career woman and a pure angel during the ceremony, turned into someone who resembled a nosy relative by the end.
Thinking about the gap between her appearance and her demeanor, I suddenly recalled something…
(Didn’t Laila-san work under the Water Goddess Eir-sama?)
Now that I think about it, Eir-sama has a similar personality. Maybe working under her rubs off on her subordinates.
And so, the wedding ceremony of the Water Country’s Legendary Hero —me— and Princess Sofia ended without incident.
As for how our wedding night Laila-san was speaking of… that’s a story I’ll leave untold.
◇The Next Morning◇
Morning sunlight streamed through the window.
Sofia was peacefully breathing in her sleep next to me.
I carefully got out of bed without waking her and dressed myself.
(I’ll practice destiny magic while Sofia’s still asleep.) (Makoto)
I quietly called out to the Time Spirits.
XXXXX……XXX……
……XXXXX……XXXX
…XXXX……XX……XXX
The Time Spirits weren’t particularly pleasant when just waking up.
Spirits aren’t bound by time, but they certainly have moods.
I began practicing destiny magic with the Spirits’ help.
As I continued, a voice called out to me.
“Oh my, Mako-kun, already training the day after your wedding? You’re so busy.”
I was spoken to.
Upon turning to look, Princess Sofia, now fully dressed, sat with her legs crossed, smiling at me.
Her appearance was undoubtedly that of Princess Sofia, but her expression, mannerisms, and the way she called me “Mako-kun” could only mean…
“Eir-sama?” (Makoto)
“Yes, it’s me! Sorry for being late, but congratulations on your marriage, Mako-kun. I told Sofia-chan in a dream, but I haven’t said it to you directly yet.” (Eir)
“Thank you for taking the time, Eir-sama.” (Makoto)
“Of course, of course. You better make Sofia-chan happy, okay? Don’t make her cry!” (Eir)
“Naturally.” (Makoto)
I suddenly remembered something after I said this.
“By the way, about yesterday…” (Makoto)
“Stop, Mako-kun. Don’t say another word.” (Eir)
“But Noah-sama and Naia-sama descended to the mortal realm and caused a commotion. Was it okay for you not to stop them, Eir-sama?” (Makoto)
“I told you not to bring that up! I already got scolded by Althena-neesama! Besides, stopping Noah when she’s serious is impossible, and then Naia got involved too. It wasn’t my fault!” (Eir)
Eir-sama clasped her head in distress with Princess Sofia’s face.
It was quite a surreal sight.
“But thanks to Laila-san, the wedding concluded without issue.” (Makoto)
“I saw that, I saw that! That girl’s so capable. I wish she’d come back.” (Eir)
“Didn’t you transfer her elsewhere, Eir-sama?” (Makoto)
“Well, the Water Goddess’s domains -seas, rivers, water veins, and rain- don’t have much to do unless there’s some anomaly. It’s basically a job where zoning out is the main task. Laila-chan seemed bored since she wanted to do more active work.” (Eir)
Laila-san really was ambitious. Personally, I’d think working under the Water Goddess’s domain would be ideal.
Maybe my ambition is just too low.
“Oh? Mako-kun, want to convert to the Water Goddess’ faith? I’d gladly welcome you~” (Eir)
“No, I don’t.” (Makoto)
This exchange has already happened dozens of times.
“Well then, I’ll be off now. Take good care of Sofia-chan☆” (Eir)w
With a cute wink, Princess Sofia momentarily closed her eyes, as if losing consciousness for a second.
When she opened them again, her usual composed expression returned.
“Good morning, Sofia.” (Makoto)
“Good morning, Makoto.” (Sofia)
“Eir-sama descended just now.” (Makoto)
“Yes, I heard. It seems like she’s had her hands full.” (Sofia)
We exchanged a wry smile.
In any case, I was glad to have been able to properly greet Eir-sama, since I didn’t speak to her yesterday.
Afterward, we shared breakfast together before Sofia departed for her official duties.
She’s such a hard worker.
Left alone, I decided to thank my friends for yesterday and headed toward the inn where the guests were staying.
The lodging arrangements had been handled by Fuji-yan’s trading company, so I knew the location.
However, I didn’t know the exact room numbers.
It was almost noon. A bit of an awkward time for an unannounced visit.
If I were to meet Sakurai-kun or Fuji-yan, it’d be better to wait until after lunch, I guess?
So, I decided to visit the people I felt least hesitant about seeing.
I set out to find Lucy and Sa-san’s room.
Although I didn’t know the room number, I could just ask the Fire Spirits where Lucy is.
—XXXXX (Is Lucy here?)
—XXXXX (This way, this way!)
—XXXXX (Thanks.)
The Fire Spirits were cheerful and obedient.
If only the Time Spirits were like that.
I was guided to a door within the inn.
From this close, I could sense an abundance of Fire Spirits beyond the door.
Lucy must be in this room—and most likely Sa-san as well.
It would be fine if it were just the two of them, but there could be others as well. I raised my hand to knock, but…
“Takatsuki-kun, welcome back!”
The door flung open, and Sa-san greeted me.
She wasn’t in her usual adventurer outfit but rather loungewear…quite casually worn, with a lot of skin showing.
“I haven’t even knocked yet.” (Makoto)
“I recognized your footsteps, Takatsuki-kun.” (Aya)
Through the door? She could distinguish people by their footsteps?
“R-Right. May I come in?” (Makoto)
“Sure, go ahead.” (Aya)
I entered the room with Sa-san’s permission.
From her casual attire, I thought it was just her and Lucy, but…
“Makoto! You’re early. Shouldn’t you be with Sofia?”
“You’re late, My Knight.”
Lucy and Furiae-san were inside, saying completely opposite things.
By the way, both of them were dressed even more casually than Sa-san.
Empty liquor bottles littered the floor around them.
(Did they drink until morning…?) (Makoto)
Only now did I realize the room was filled with the smell of alcohol.
“Here you go☆” (Aya)
Before I knew it, Sa-san handed me a glass of alcohol.
“No, I…” (Makoto)
“What? You won’t drink the alcohol I pour, My Knight?” (Furiae)
But Sa-san’s the one who poured it…
“Makotoo!!” (Lucy)
A drunken Lucy clung to me for no reason.
With her came the Fire Spirits to hug me as well, making the embrace unbearably hot.
They’re totally out of control.
In the end, I was forced to start drinking in the morning.
◇◇
Lucy murmured while sipping her drink…
“Still can’t believe Makoto’s getting married.” (Lucy)
“Why don’t you hold your wedding in the Wood Country, Lucy? Princess Sofia already gave her blessing, didn’t she?” (Furiae)
Furiae-san suggested.
“I’m not in a rush. Just being able to see Makoto is enough for me.” (Lucy)
“Such a model answer. Meanwhile, I can’t even hold a wedding with My Knight…” (Furiae)
“That’s because you’re the Moon Country’s queen, Furi…” (Lucy)
“Isn’t there some way? Maybe I could use Charm to manipulate the citizens…” (Furiae)
“Stop that.” (Lucy)
As I listened to their unsettling conversation…
“I want Takatsuki-kun’s child.” (Aya)
Sa-san suddenly muttered.
I nearly dropped my glass.
(This topic just keeps coming up…) (Makoto)
While I was pondering how to respond…
“Aya always talks about that.” (Lucy)
“Yeah. I don’t have family in this isekai, so I envy you, Lu-chan.” (Aya)
“What are you saying? Makoto, Furiae, and I are like family, right? I’d do anything for you, Aya!” (Lucy)
“…Anything? Lu-chan, you’d really do anything, huh?” (Aya)
“Sa-san, I also—” (Makoto)
“Really!?” (Aya)
Sa-san pushed me down before I could finish my sentence.
“Then, Takatsuki-kun…♡ Let’s make a child…♡” (Aya)
“Y-Yeah.” (Makoto)
I didn’t dislike the idea, nor did I plan to refuse.
So why did I feel like a frog being stared down by a snake?
Lucy looked on with an eager expression. Wait, is she watching?
Then, I noticed Furiae-san looking as if she had something to say.
“Princess? What’s wrong?” (Makoto)
I braced myself for some complaint about the setting, but instead…
“I debated whether to say this, but…when you mentioned ‘family’, it reminded me. Aya-san once asked me to look into her estranged older sister —the one who betrayed the Lamia Tribe in the Great Labyrinth. I’ve found out where she is on the Demon Continent.” (Furiae)
“……What?” (Aya)F
Sa-san’s expression turned icy cold.
■Comment Response:
>3 Goddesses descend!!
>Is the mental state of the participants alright?
-Laila-san and the angels she called are going to give them aftercare.
No worries.
By the way, this is a drawing of Laila-san (married).
>Next chapter is their first night, huh. I will pray the other heroines don’t crash in.
>They will surely read the room, right?
-They did.
■Author’s Comment:
Next time we will be going through the arc of Sa-san’s sister.
It won’t be a long one.
Author said on twitter that his goal is to finish his other novel(Zero Attack) this year. And also write a new one. He didnt say if it’ll be set in WM universe, but I hope its a crossover novel of WM & ZAP. The time is ripe for that
Man i REALLY want a collab between Makoto and Eugen. funniest part ? they both will be nagged by their harems probably 🙂
Ohoh, closing up loose ends at last, eh.
Will Aya let her live as her only family left or will she not…
The sister better not have had kids.
Thank you for the chapter !
Eri and Makoto’s reunion when? I’d like to see her reaction so bad.
Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Looking forward reading your tl again this year.
Happy new year! May it be a year full of success and good health! Thank you for the chapter! So we finally got to this! I had forgotten! XD
