“Ya know mah abilities, but I still have cards I haven’t used.” 

Guy unsheathed the tachi that he was carrying on his back with practiced movements. 

Those movements were not of a newbie. The action of unsheathing a sword from your back is pretty difficult in itself. 

Lanpeach has tried to unsheathe a toy katana from his back when he was a child, but couldn’t get it to, and ended up lifting his toy sword along with his shirt. 

It was not a story he was proud of at all.

“The preferred weapons of Guy should be claws and hammers though.” (Lanpeach)

“Ha, that’s true, but this is the real world. Told ya, ya can get stronger with training.” (Guy)

“To think you would be able to overcome the realm of newbie in 1 year. The growth rate of a protagonist. No, the result of the person himself, huh.” (Lanpeach)

Guy said this in a slightly proud voice. Even if the use of the system has changed, the skills, equipment, and magic are almost the same; that’s the assumption of Lanpeach. 

If that wasn’t the case, Lanpeach wouldn’t have been able to predict the attack of Dry when he battled her, and would have lost. 

“Aw, shucks. Well, I did train a whole lot. It is partly because this body is great.” (Guy)

Guy spun his tachi, letting out wind cutting sounds while showing movements straight out of a movie. 

“Improving that much in 1 year is impressive. Did you finally manage to spin it?” (Lanpeach)

“It is easy. Well, it is more interesting that way. Now then, Imma give ya this before the duel.” (Guy)

There was no haughtiness in that answer, he really thought this. That’s just how impressive the talent of a protagonist must be. 

Lanpeach caught the capsule Guy threw. 

He could see that there’s a blue liquid inside this long and thin cylinder. 

[A potion. Moreover, the mana is decently high. Probably intermediate rank?] (Libra)

He was impressed by the judgment of Libra. 

An intermediate rank would go for 1 million Ele after all. 

“Looks expensive. Is that okay?” (Lanpeach)

“Yeah, it would be troubling if ya were to die when yer gonna become mah subordinate. Use it without reservation.” (Guy)

He is an unexpectedly good guy. 

It is true that there wouldn’t be any point in the duel if one were to die, but Guy could have just made a deal by showing that potion. He would have been able to get Lanpeach more indebted that way. 

“You must believe in your own advantage. But I might kill you.” (Lanpeach)

“Yeh, but I have this. Come, Earth Spirit, Tar Dragon King the 3rd!” (Guy)

Guy took a stance with his tachi and shouted. 

The earth bubbled and rose with that shout of his, and something jumped out. 

“Moguu!” 

Earth color fur, long nails, round eyes, and a tiny nose that twitched. A small animal of around 20 centimeters tall. A cute mole showed itself. 

It clunk onto Guy’s shoulder like a koala, and moved its nose as if to show off how good they get along to Lanpeach and Libra. 

“Uwa, that mole is so cute! I can’t go losing!” (Libra)

Libra clunk onto the shoulder of Lanpeach as if hugging him to compete with Dragon King the 3rd, and rubbed her cheeks on him. 

Libra has a devilish talent when it comes to provoking others. 

Lanpeach has a silver haired twin tailed pretty girl; Guy has a small mole. Both of them were clinging to their respective masters. 

“Haha, that won’t work. That provocation only works a teeny bit. Mah Dragon King the 3rd is also cute. Also…it is about time I got serious.” (Guy)

The eyes of Guy turned into the very definition of serious with his mouth stiffened up. 

He weaved his mana and activated magic. 

[Element Fusion].

Guy and Dragon King the 3rd fuse. 

The skin around his eyes turned black like a panda, and 8 whiskers like wires grow to the sides.

He fused with a Spirit and transformed into a beastman. 

“There it is. The number one reason you are the least popular. Even though you are a scary looking man, you look uncool when you use Element Fusion. You might have been cute if you were a girl.” (Lanpeach)

“He looks like a petty thief from old manga. It would look perfect if his cheeks were puffy.” (Libra)

“Reason number 2 for not being popular is that the Earth Spirit specializes only in defense skills. And so, you are made to be a pure tank, becoming a shield for your allies, so he wasn’t popular with the tourists (also known as the casual players) that wanted to beat things up.” (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach said whatever he wanted. 

But Guy didn’t show signs of being angry and cracked his neck. 

“I also agree with that. But how ‘bout this?” (Guy)

[Armor Fusion].

The body of Guy flashed and the wind raged. 

The scraps began to dance in the air like sand and changed shape.

He covered his eyes from the raging wind while he observed Guy calmly. 

A part of the reason why Libra appraised Guy as Level 5 was being shown in front of his eyes. 

The raging wind calmed down and the flashing light went away.

The Guy who was making a bit of an incompetent face was not there. 

What was there was a man wearing golden heavy armor instead. His body had been completely hidden by thick armor. The eye part was a visor and covered with crystals, so there’s no opening. 

Guy was already big as he was, but now he was short and stout like a metallic golem, and he gave off an atmosphere like a fortress that no attack will work on. 

“[Armor Fusion]: Fuse the armor you have equipped with the Spirit, imbue the element of the Spirit into it, and increase its stats. You can also use the inherent skills of the Spirit, right?” (Lanpeach)

“That’s right. In this appearance, mah physical and magic defenses are greatly increased with Dragon King the 3rd’s [Adamantine Body]. Yer attacks won’t work anymore.” (Guy)

It is a technique that surpasses Element Fusion. 

The advantage is that it can even be fused with armor that has an Artificial Spirit imbued. 

With this, you not only can use the inherent skills of the Spirit, but the inherent skills of 2 elements. The energy of the Spirit Barrier also increases greatly. 

It is a cheat skill only available for protagonists. Lanpeach obviously doesn’t have that. 

You can only use Armor Fusion at level 5.

“Are ya still gonna fight? There’s a gap in level and yer attacks won’t work either.” (Guy)

Lanpeach knows that that appearance of his overflowing with confidence is warranted.

Guy was a mess when it came to the character balance most likely because they concentrated too much on his role as a tank. 

Guy of course is aware of this too. 

“That’s why I went for a longsword. It is lighter than a hammer, has more firepower than claws, and decent accuracy. Yer gonna be in for a world of pain if ya think it is all the same as the game.” (Guy)

The heavy armor warrior readied his tachi and laughed.

“Also, this job is the best in real life. Ya won’t get hurt, so ya won’t suffer from attacks of monsters. Ya can also earn EXP safely. Yer heart is controlled by fear in real life with yer life in danger after all. For us normal people, injuries are the number one public enemy.” (Guy)

The partner of Guy was controlled by fear after being severely injured once and stopped exploring. 

Makes sense. There’s no way a normal person can stand on the battlefield where you can lose your life even if you become stronger. 

The reason why Guy could raise his level without complications was thanks to his invincible defense power. He was somehow managing to cover for his lack of offensive power with the tachi and magic. 

“I see. I am a coward myself, so I can understand that feeling. I am always pushing back my fear every day as I fight the monsters after all.” (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach nodded in understanding, but he was fighting the Excatirano a moment ago without fearing instant death. 

Lanpeach ignored Libra who was staring at him as if saying ‘what is this guy talking about?’ and put his gun away. 

He slowly placed his hand to the front. 

(I don’t know whether he is level 30 or 40 or whatever, but…I will have you show me the strength of a level system!) (Lanpeach)

Guy took one step after another towards the grinning Lanpeach. He was leaving footprints on the ground with the weight of his heavy armor. 

He was approaching Lanpeach slowly and entered the reach of his tachi. 

“Planning on fighting with yer bare fists? Then, here I go!” (Guy)

Guy switched the grip of his tachi and swung horizontally with the blunt part. 

The sound of cutting wind rang. A sharp attack. 

The way he stepped in, the way he moved his body, the way he put strength in his tachi, it certainly is not that of a newbie. 

Moreover, he is also strengthened from leveling. 

The speed of that sword was quite high. 

“But it is in the end the movements of a newbie who has just begun learning for 1 year.” (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach simply had the experience of a top class martial artist. 

Guy may be using his high stats, but it didn’t work on Lanpeach because it was still within human boundaries. 

“C-Could it be that ya were a martial artist in our world, Lanpeach-don?!” (Guy)

Lanpeach lied as naturally as breathing.

But Guy believed in that lie.

“Element Fusion!” (Lanpeach)

“Yes sir. Fusion~.” (Libra)

Libra clung onto Lanpeach and had her body go transparent.

And then, he raised the level of his skills. His atmosphere changed from that of a first rate genius to a master martial artist. 

The minor villain Lanpeach acted like a protagonist and tried to control the following developments. 

He showed a haughty, arrogant, and leisure attitude.
