“Aah, that was tiring. It was seriously tiring. I actually like fighting bosses with a lot of gimmicks and it is easy though. But to think it would be able to learn.” (Lanpeach)
[All beasts have the ability to learn! How can you be so positive, Soldier? Also, how can you fight like you are having so much fun? A normal person would feel danger to their life.] (Libra)
“At least take that as me being a battle junkie.” (Lanpeach)
[I simply feel like it is a bit different from that~.] (Libra)
Lanpeach was satisfied after seeing the experience log while cracking his shoulders.
He headed to the mountain of rubble where the Excatirano was curled up at first.
Libra was dissatisfied, but he had no intention of answering her.
—-Well, she will probably discover it later, is what Lanpeach thought as he smiled wryly and stopped his feet.
“Now then, the boss battle is over and it is now the second round? How long are you planning to hide?” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach turned around and spoke in a cold tone.
And then, the rustic voice of a carefree man answered in a space where there should be no one aside from Lanpeach and Libra.
“I didn’t expect to be noticed though. So ya knew.”
A man taller than Lanpeach showed up at the entrance of the radio tower, making metallic sounds as he stepped onto the scraps.
His face looked rustic, but the warped smile was erasing that impression.
It is Guy.
One of the 7 protagonists. The man that made a pact with an Earth Spirit.
Lanpeach noticed that someone was moving around a bit before, so he wasn’t surprised and simply shrugged his shoulders.
“Yer Weakma, right? Defeating the Excatirano is impressive. Ya cleared the game solo?” (Guy)
“…What’s a game? My name is Norma. I am just your average explorer that uses a weak Artificial Spirit and hunts around here the whole time.” (Lanpeach)
[Who is this weak Artificial Spirit?! My overflowing attractive and enchanting intelligence is covering for my combat prowess. I am a peak Artificial Spirit!] (Libra)
[Sorry, it is true that you are a peak Artificial Spirit. I have never met a wonderful Artificial Spirit like you, Libra.] (Lanpeach)
[Ehehe, thanks.] (Libra)
Libra changed her presence so that Guy can’t see her and complained, so he apologized obediently.
‘I am indeed peak attractive and enchanting’, is what she said as she pushed her chest on his cheek to protest, so he apologized.
Lanpeach could feel overflowing wisdom in that softness.
Even though a sight that would make men cry and burn in envy was right in front of Guy, he didn’t notice and just snorted.
“Ya used plates as scaffolds and attacked the nape of the neck; I’ve never seen a guy be such a daredevil while using a game-like way of defeating an enemy. Also, I ain’t an idiot.” (Guy)
Guy got over the scraps and stopped at a certain distance. That face has caution and amusement mixed.
“‘I will be hostile if you get involved with Dry’ – I thought this was because yer a mercenary with a sense of comradery, but yer acting alone in this dungeon. Ain’t that contradictory? Where’s Dry? Ya would normally come with yer comrade. Also, strength that doesn’t match that sly appearance of yers like that of a minor villain. Ya must have transmigrated to this game world from Japan. That’s the only explanation. It is classic protagonist behavior.” (Guy)
Guy said this with a face filled with confidence. There’s only two strange points, but Guy likes games, and he has checked isekai fantasies in his free time. That’s why he noticed that the strange strength of the man in front of him was that of a transmigrator.
“Well, it is fine for ya to play the fool here. We will simply observe the actions of ya and yer comrades. We can tell pretty fast yer acting under the knowledge of the game if we observe ya with the perspective of a transmigrator.” (Guy)
Lanpeach sighed, realizing that it wouldn’t be possible to play it off here.
They certainly would be able to tell immediately if they were to watch him. He is planning on following guides from here on as well after all.
From the perspective of someone that knows nothing about it, they would be confused, wondering where he obtained such knowledge, but if he is observed with the assumption of being a transmigrator, they will immediately realize where his knowledge comes from.
“What about you? Where did the naive and honest Guy go? Your bad and sly personality is oozing, you know?” (Lanpeach)
“Oh, right. I’m always carefree, and a country hick that gets deceived in the blink of an eye. Mah bad, mah bad.” (Guy)
Guy placed a hand on his chin and scratched it as he laughed.
Lanpeach was wary about how he had no intention of hiding this.
In the guild, he was repeating stupid statements, and leaking information over and over, but the man in front of him was giving the air that you can’t lower your guard at all.
Guy narrowed his eyes and looked at Lanpeach with a sharp gaze.
“So, yer a transmigrator too?” (Guy)
“Yeah, that’s right. Guy of the Earth. How did you come to this world?” (Lanpeach)
“Heeh, ya admit it unexpectedly honestly. I transmigrated around spring in the countryside that is the starting point in the game. I was thinking about tilting the fields with mah hoe, opened the door of mah house, and by the time I noticed, I was inside the body of Guy. What about ya?” (Guy)
Guy thought it unexpected that Lanpeach admitted it so easily and answered warily while thinking he was as sly as his appearance states.
“I was washing my face and ended up in this world.” (Lanpeach)
“I see… Mah comrade’s transmigration time was also similar. It ain’t stuff like being run over by a truck, dying from overwork, or suicide, but suddenly getting transmigrated into this Powder of Elements with what’s basically an extension of yer normal life.” (Guy)
“Is that so… And, who is the other one?” (Lanpeach)
“Can’t tell ya. Information are cards. Gotta keep mah cards close to mah bosom. Don’t ya think?” (Guy)
“Same. Then, let’s both open up the cards we have.” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach and Guy glared at each other and a dicey atmosphere blew over. Both of them were wary of each other, considering each other as an intelligent person, while also enjoying the moment.
[Hey hey, what’s a game world? Transmigration? Were you from a different world, Soldier?] (Libra)
The pretty shrine maiden got on top of the shoulders of Lanpeach like a riding piggyback and peeked at his face with interest, so it was a bit more lax of an atmosphere in the side of Lanpeach.
The thighs of Libra are smooth after all -is the excuse Lanpeach made internally.
[Yeah, that’s right. This world is exactly like the game world I was playing. That’s why I had a lot of knowledge. I am going to be drawing information from Guy, so zip your mouth please.] (Lanpeach)
[Hohn hohn~… I see. Got it. Zippity zip!] (Libra)
Libra made a gesture as if zipping her mouth and grinned at him.
Libra was not flustered even when told this is a game world, but Lanpeach thought that this is probably because she is an Artificial Spirit, so he didn’t worry too much about it and continued talking to Guy.
Right now it is more important to gather information about the transmigrators.
“Mah name is Guy. The man that has a pact with the Earth Spirit. Well, ya probably already knew this.” (Guy)
“My name is Lanpeach Kouza.” (Lanpeach)
The conversation began with a mutual jab.
“Oi oi, hiding yer real name at this point? That name screams weak hoodlum. It is obviously a fake name.” (Guy)
“Oi, you bastard. Don’t go insulting the name of someone! It is my real name! My real name! You said something you shouldn’t have.” (Lanpeach)
“Eh… That’s yer real name…? M-Mah condolences. Ah, but having a family name means yer a high class citizen… D-Doesn’t seem to be the case.” (Guy)
“Don’t apologize obediently. Insult me more there. I can’t react with that. I can’t leave the matter of the name vague with that!” (Lanpeach)
Guy apologized awkwardly.
Lanpeach could feel his sympathy, making it even more painful, so his eyes went dead and glared at Guy.
[Ahaha, you are indeed a weak hoodlum. Ahaha, even though no one retorted to that. Ahaha.] (Libra)
Libra-san rolled in the air laughing.
It seems like Lanpeach lost the 1st round with that powerful straight.
Lanpeach groaned in vexation, but he calmed down his heart.
Guy must have been relieved by that, he coughed and returned the conversation.
“Then, should we ask questions to each other like this?” (Guy)
He took out an awfully old scroll made of parchment from his pocket, and threw it in the air.
Blue fire bursted from the scroll and blue flames like souls appeared in midair.
“It is the Truth or Lie spell. It detects lies, and turns red if it is a lie. If it turns red 3 times, the effect disappears. It is a precious scroll, but that’s why it is worth using it here.” (Guy)
It is a fantasy-like event. An item that wasn’t in the game.
(To think there was such a convenient thing…) (Lanpeach)
[Soldier, that’s a spell that only the user benefits from. It doesn’t detect the lies of both parties. It only reacts to your lies. Does that man think you wouldn’t notice? Even though you have the beautiful shrine maiden, Libra-chan!] (Libra)
[I see. He thinks I won’t notice. It is an item that didn’t exist in the game after all.] (Lanpeach)
Libra puffed out and told him with a smile.
Lanpeach understood after this. Guy must have thought that Lanpeach wouldn’t know about the existence of an expensive scroll after seeing his cheap equipment.
This item didn’t exist in the game after all.
Lanpeach certainly wouldn’t have noticed this without Libra and might have been deceived.
Guy was using this tense situation well to play his deception from the very making of the rules.
(What a sly man. But that’s fine. It is age-old knowledge that it is easy to deceive lie detection magic.) (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach snickered with a crooked smile while letting an impressed voice at the blue flames.
“There was something like that? It wasn’t in the game.” (Lanpeach)
“Right? A whole lotta items exist here now that it is reality. This one is pretty expensive even within those and was pretty tough to get.”(Guy)
“Thanks for that. So, can I ask first?” (Lanpeach)
“Go ahead. I will give ya the first question.” (Guy)
Guy thought he wouldn’t notice no matter what he said anyways. He was confident of his own advantage here.
Lanpeach smiled internally at how this is an opening he can stab at.
“Then, Guy, do you have a cheat skill?” (Lanpeach)
“No. I wouldn’t have such lame equipment after 1 year if that were the case. Do ya have a cheat skill, Lanpeach-don?” (Guy)
“No. You should be able to tell with my lame equipment even though the game started quite a while ago, right?” (Lanpeach)
The flame stayed blue.
He didn’t lie. He didn’t say anything about having transmigrated in spring after all.
Guy saw the color of the fire and was relieved at how he didn’t have a cheat skill.
Lanpeach saw that expression and smiled faintly.
It is because that reaction showed that Guy himself doesn’t have a cheat skill.
(You shouldn’t concentrate solely on the color of the fire, Guy. It is because you are concentrating that you are lacking the resources to make a poker face.) (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach wondered what question to make next.
[Uncover]
And then, Lanpeach used the skill that can see through the truth from the faint expressions of the other party.
No need for an expensive scroll when you have a skill for it
Thanks for the chapter!
