TLN: Hey guys, Reigokai here.

Just wanted to note that the webpage has now changed from isekailunatic to reigokaitranslations.

I have set it so that even if you use the old page, you will be redirected to this one, but that’s just temporary, so better to know.

Oh right, also, I am trying to migrate comments to the new page. Have to wait 24 hours to see if it does work though, lol. Not even sure if I did it right haha.

Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

——-

“Aah, so this is the money you got from the residents. Got it. Please use it for daily necessity expenses.” (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach easily returned the 200,000 Ele to her.

It is chump change for Lanpeach, but he thought it would serve greatly for the daily necessities of the children. He didn’t think much of it.

But Chihiro was flustered by that expected attitude of his.

If she were to accept this, it would be proof that they are not being of any use at all.

“Uhm, it is a pretty large sum, and everyone from the team already has food, clothes, and beds. They won’t be troubled in their daily life for a while, so how about you use it, Lan?” (Chihiro)

And so, she tried to have him use it somehow with a smile, but Lanpeach thought about it for a bit and returned the money without any resistance.

“Yeah, don’t need it. It will get colder from here on, so get an air conditioner in the big rooms…? That won’t be possible, so buy an electric stove. You should be able to buy a few of them.” (Lanpeach)

They are virtuous words, but Lanpeach was showing absolutely no interest in the earnings of the base.

Chihiro saw this as him trying to not get attached to this place in order to rise in ranks as an explorer.

But…

“Understood. I shall accept it then. But I will be working hard from here on as well, so please rely on me a bit, okay?” (Chihiro)

She responded with a smile mixed with displeased emotions.

The reason being the conversation that leaked from this room a moment ago.

(The existence of that personage. It seems like they are using this base. Lan must protect this base as their subordinate. That’s why it should be fine for now. If we still have time, I just need to show my worth to Lan until then.) (Chihiro)

Right now Lanpeach thinks of them as people who have no worth but have to protect. The chances of him abandoning them are extremely high.

But that’s the current state of the matter. There’s no telling what awaits in the future.

Chihiro pledged in her heart to definitely become someone who is worthy.

The difference in heat between Chihiro and Lanpeach was staggering.

This base is an important place in order to block the death flags, and the children are not accounted as a combat force by the system. He already perceived them as residents that are solely for protection since that moment.

And in order to increase the happiness meter of the residents, there’s the need to increase the quality of the facilities, hold parties, and give presents.

He wants to throw around cash like in the game, but it is the early game and it is in this current situation. He has no leeway to put money on the interior of the facilities.

And so, he was given money that felt like the kind that you would get from the tutorials when you are managing bases, so he easily ordered her to go buy heating.

The production power of the base is zero, so his assumption here is that there’s no way he will be getting any money from the base.

This man was the peak of gamer brain.

Because of this, the eyes of Lanpeach were swimming, wondering if the log telling him the tutorial had been cleared would show up, and was disappointed that nothing was happening.

The prankish Artificial Spirit that alluded to the presence of a ‘personage’ was grinning at the back of Lanpeach.

(Fufufu, that personage sounds like fun! Lanpeach has not noticed at all, but things might get interesting if this spreads.) (Libra)

There’s Libra who is always trying to make things fun, and then there’s Dry who is silent and thinking about this employer that’s being called as that personage.

(Peach-oniichan seems to be employed by some impressive person. Being employed by this personage person makes Lanpeach-oniichan amazing.) (Dry)

This is how the word spread to the others and the credibility of it increased, but that’s a story for another time.

All 4 of them were thinking in completely different ways like a grade-separated intersection.

“Aah, speaking of which, Dry, I will give you this. Catch.” (Lanpeach)

He threw the Frost Bracelet as if remembering just now.

Dry hurriedly caught it and faced Lanpeach in shock.

“! This is expensive. Is that okay, Lanpeach-oniichan?” (Dry)

Makes sense. They fought with their lives for this bracelet. Of course she would be surprised if she is given this to her so nonchalantly.

“Equip that, earn a bit more money, and get proper equipment. There’s definitely Ice Bears in the blizzard. They are immune to ice, but you can pierce through that with that bracelet, and it has low Hit Points, so it is easy to defeat for a mage. You get the fur and spirit crystal when you defeat it after all. If you hunt a whole lot this winter, you should be able to easily get enough money to buy a Spirit Armor at least.” (Lanpeach)

Ice Bears are monsters that only appear in blizzards. Their attacks are fangs and claws.

Their critical rate is high, moreover, there’s also the environmental damage over time with the blizzard, so it is troublesome, but it only does physical attacks.

It is easy earnings for the protagonists that are only affected by magic attacks with their Elemental Fusion.

She is always in a hoodie and relies on magic. You can progress in the early game with just that, but it is a pattern that will roadblock you in mid game. And so, he wanted her to get proper equipment already.

Also…Lanpeach reached the conclusion the other day that there’s already no death flag with Dry.

The reason being that Lanpeach gets killed by Dry in an early event. There are events with other protagonists that would end up killing him, but it in turn means that if he were to overcome those definite events, there will be no events where that protagonist will kill him.

As for the other protagonists aside from those, he would get killed when encountering them in random events, and you can skip those events, so it is hard to manage those death flags.

And so, there’s no issue in strengthening Dry from here on. Not only that, he judged that there’s a high chance she would be of great help to him.

“Yes, Dry will adventure together with Peach-oniichan from here on! Party together!” (Dry)

“Guheh!”

But Dry was shocked by this and shouted, and then charged at him mercilessly and landed straight onto his solar plexus.

It hurt a bit and it took out the air from his lungs.

She was clinging tightly, so it was pretty painful.

(But even if Dry pleads, I don’t plan on backing down. I plan on doing this playthrough in an efficient manner.) (Lanpeach)

—Efficient playthrough.

His brain switched into clearing the game. His perception, his senses, and his thoughts shifted.

“No, I will do my own hunting. It would be more efficient to act separately.” (Lanpeach)

“But Dry is useful! Can use spirit magic too—” (Dry)

She was going to finish what she was saying, but her body flinched and she shut her mouth.

Even though he had normal eyes until just a moment ago, he was now showing ice cold eyes.

“Uh, g-got it.” (Dry)

She faltered at this gaze and reluctantly nodded.

Libra noticed those eyes that Lanpeach himself didn’t notice.

The eyes like those of a god overwatching the world, which he shows sometimes.

She looked at him with interest, as if charmed by those eyes.

“Then, what will you be doing, Lan?” (Chihiro)

Chihiro asked in wonder.

The cold eyes of Lanpeach returned to normal. He made a smug face and made a crooked smile as he made a thumbs up.

“The island of dreams, the Spirit Ward. I will go earn cash in that Spirit Ward.” (Lanpeach)

He had to make proper preparations before searching for quests, before the death flags are raised.

He had to head to the Explorer Guild first.

◇◇

The Explorer Guild is in the Surface District.

This guild provides support to the people that explore the vast world called the Spirit Ward that is outside the city and beyond the sphere of humanity.

They explore the Spirit Ward in order to collect spirit crystals from monsters which are energy matter that serves for the survival of humanity. It is also the zone where the monsters trying to destroy humanity live in.

The Spirit Ward is a world of fire, a world of ice. It warps space itself, becoming a maze where you wouldn’t have enough lives to bet.

But the reward for winning in that bet is big.

You can earn the yearly salary of a normal person from one victory, and if you are lucky, you could even obtain a fortune that you wouldn’t be able to spend in a lifetime, and irrefutable fame.

The ones who jump into that world are the daredevils called explorers.

There’s a number of guilds that assist those explorers in the Surface District, but there’s a place that is close to the Slum District that is used for the lowest of explorers.

The building is just an abandoned building that was modified a bit. There’s cracks, the fluorescent lights are flickering, and there’s some that are not even working.

There’s no bar, but there’s people who are sitting on the sofa with rusted springs poking out, drinking alcohol that they most likely brought from outside.

It has become a bar of ruffians, and the receptionist is an old man with an unkempt beard who doesn’t seem to be too enthused to work.

There were those who looked like criminals who were having drinks together with the explorers.

No normal person would enter this place.

But there was someone with the courage to.

Who other than Lanpeach who has come to try and make an earning.

“Good work~.” (Lanpeach)

He greeted them in a low voice, opened the door a little bit, and peeked inside.

“Gyahahahaha, and so that guy joined the slums. His body was slowly melting. I had a good laugh.”

“What happened to him?”

“I obviously tried to save him for the cheap price of 1 million Ele as kind as I am. He said he didn’t have the cash, so I just gave him my prayers.”

“Just save him. So pitiful.”

“A Fire Arrow Scroll is not free. I can’t use that on a newbie with no cash.”

A conversation between ruffians.

[Are you not entering, Soldier?] (Libra)

Libra got in front of the face of Lanpeach who was peeking inside from an opening of the door.

(Shut up, Libra. Can’t you understand this conversation?! A virtuous man like me advancing through this place, going through that group of people having such a fearsome conversation, and heading towards the counter; I am definitely going to get caught in trouble. I can see it, I can. The future of me being caught up in trouble!) (Lanpeach)

The cowardly Lanpeach trembled. This civilian honestly wanted to turn tail.

[Hmm, I think you will be fine. Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Your face is that of a crook cranked to the max. You look even more evil than the people inside, you know?] (Libra)

(…Really? Hmm…the skill is erasing my virtue and showing myself as being cut from the same cloth as them?) (Lanpeach)

In manga, when someone wearing the uniform properly entered a delinquent school, they would definitely get caught in trouble, but if you were to enter with a loose uniform and dyed hair, there’s the rule that you won’t be caught in trouble by them because you are seen as a comrade.

(Umu, support character, it looks like you have finally provided good support.) (Lanpeach)

[Ehen, you can rely on me anytime. I am a skillful support Artificial Spirit after all!] (Libra)

Lanpeach praised Libra for having possibly been of use for the first time, and she showed a smug face as she shook her bountiful chest.

“Heyo my people, good work.” (Lanpeach)

And so, Lanpeach opened the door with force, shaking his shoulders, and entering boldly.

◇◇

“—It didn’t work!” (Lanpeach)

[Ahaha, yeah. But that was funny. Ahaha.] (Libra)

Libra held her stomach and laughed.

As for Lanpeach, he held his forehead and sighed sadly.

The hoodlums of before were sprawled on the ground right in front of Lanpeach.
