“Haha~fufu~. You did it. That was awesome, me, me, me~.”
Lanpeach hummed a terrible song while carrying something in his hand.
It is a hum with a questionable rhythm, and he was chuckling with a ‘kekeke’ like a crook, so it was really annoying. It is to the point where the guards were wondering if it is okay to shoot him dead.
But Lanpeach was so happy he was unconcerned by this and was considering whether to do some skips as well. The guards thought he was a junkie and were definitely considering whether to apprehend him.
That’s how happy he was.
But Libra was displeased by this happy face of his, so she clung onto his head and peeked at the face of Lanpeach.
They moved from the Surface District to the slums, and she showed herself without reservation.
[Hey hey, can you tell me why you are so happy? I am extremely curious about it. We are two for two, right? I don’t think it is good to have secrets.] (Libra)
“Doesn’t that mean we are strangers? Well, there’s no need to hide it anyways, so I will tell you.” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach showed the ring and bracelet he is wearing with a smug face and explained.
“This ring is a Spatial Ring. You can store one item. It is currently sealed and can’t be used, but you can undo the seal by saying ‘Space, undo the seal’ to unseal it.” (Lanpeach)
The ring shone and the rusty ring changed into a silver ring. It doesn’t stand out even as a silver ring, but its power is activated.
[Spatial Ring: Can store one item.]
“This is actually a password that you can’t learn unless you search for it in a high level dungeon. Well, I know it though.” (Lanpeach)
[Ooh, that’s impressive. Having an ability like that for just 50,000 Ele is super cheap! It can store anything?] (Libra)
“As far as armor, that is.” (Lanpeach)
[What’s with that? That’s a questionable ability then. I thought you could store a house or something.] (Libra)
“You will understand later after I show you how overpowered this ring is.” (Lanpeach)
Libra is so busy getting all happy and all down -is what Lanpeach thought as he smiled wryly, and showed her the bracelet now.
It is normally an item that only a protagonist can obtain.
“And about this…” (Lanpeach)
“The Frost Bracelet.”
“What, so you knew? That’s right, this is the Frost Bracelet.” (Lanpeach)
[Eh? I didn’t say anything.] (Libra)
Libra answered with a confused face, so Lanpeach made a wondering face.
“Wa? Then, who was it?” (Lanpeach)
“Me.”
The voice of a small girl rang from the shadow of the building. Lanpeach made a grim face. He threw the bag away and got ready.
“Who is it?” (Lanpeach)
“Hm, Dry is Dry. I want that Frost Bracelet.”
There shouldn’t have been anyone there, and yet, a girl showed up from within warping space.
“[Stealth]! W-Who are you?” (Lanpeach)
He noticed the reason why he couldn’t detect the enemy and raised his caution to the maximum as he shouted at the girl.
She was hiding with [Stealth]. She is not normal.
She is wearing a blue jumper with a hood. She is wearing the hood deeply on her face, but he could peek at a bit of blue hair.
“My name is a secret. I want that bracelet. Give it to me.”
The girl stretched her hand out with brief words.
Lanpeach heard this and began to tremble profusely. He remembered who she was.
“D-Dry! Dry of the Ice!” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach knew the name of that girl. Or more like, he voiced it out.
She is one of the protagonists of the main story. Powder of Elements is a game where you can choose between 7 protagonists.
The 7 of them have varied ages, genders, and origins. Dry is from the slums, can act the most freely, and is the easiest one to clear the game with.
“Hm? You know Dry? Have we met somewhere before?” (Dry)
The girl said in wonder and took off her hood.
A cute small girl with blue medium hair, expressionless, and droopy blue eyes. There’s a pure white pomeranian at her side wagging its tail.
That pomeranian is the Frost Wolf, Fenrir. I remember it being a fearsome Spirit despite appearances.
“Eh? Why? Isn’t this development reversed?” (Lanpeach)
Also, the details of this event as well.
Dry is the protagonist with an Ice Spirit. She is a mage from the slums that fights with the Ice Spirit Fenrir.
This event is an early game event and a tutorial. You meet the Ice Fenrir by some protagonist-like coincidence, and obtain the Frost Bracelet from the bargains in the Krita General Store with the guidance of Fenrir.
And then, Lanpeach, who was coincidentally in a bar at that time, thought that Dry had something of value, and attacked her in the slums.
“Gr, give it!”
[Element Fusion.]
Lanpeach fell pale silent and Dry used an inherent skill in her quick temper.
Fenrir was facing down and growling, and then rushed onto Dry, its body absorbed just like that into hers. Wolf ears stood tall on her head and a bushy pure white tail grew out from her butt.
“I will take it away even if I have to kill you!” (Dry)
Dry showed her fangs and glared at Lanpeach.
She is super short tempered. You could say she suits the slums.
This is simply an event to show the player how to use Element Fusion.
Only attacks with magic properties are effective on Dry when she is fused with a Spirit, and even if you defeat her, she will simply unfuse with the Spirit and Dry herself will be okay.
And so, the Lanpeach in the game attacked her without knowing his place, and got pitifully killed. The minor villain Lanpeach that gets killed as a simple tutorial to teach the player.
He has become Lanpeach now, so he wanted to shout ‘don’t joke around’. But he didn’t expect she would attack him if he were to buy it before her.
“N-Now, wait. I am fine with giving this bracelet to you.” (Lanpeach)
Dry was about to try and take away the bracelet like a slum resident, but she stopped clean and looked at Lanpeach.
Lanpeach resolved himself since he was about to be killed as a minor villain. She would definitely chase after him if he were to run away here.
“Really?” (Dry)
“Yeah, for 10 million Ele. The Frost Bracelet grants you piercing damage to nullification. It is a reasonable price, right?” (Lanpeach)
It is a bracelet with an overpowered ability. Ice element mages will have it easier in mid-game and later if they have this.
And so, you can sell it immediately to buy high quality spirit armor and guns, and advance the story. She is the protagonist that is favored from the very beginning and is the easiest to clear with.
Rather than using it as an item that signifies your bond with Fenrir, it would be more useful to sell it. You could say it happens often in games. The price of that is 10 million Ele.
Dry opened her mouth wide and couldn’t understand what was said just now. Once she did, she began to groan.
“Don’t have that much. Even 50,000 was difficult.” (Dry)
“Then, no deal.” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach shrugged at the expected answer.
He didn’t think one bit that Dry had 10 million Ele this early in the game. Also, he didn’t think he could get out of this one without fighting.
“Steal it!” (Dry)
Dry realized she was being made fun of, went on all fours, and raised her mana. You could tell this was dangerous even from afar.
The temperature was less than 0, and snow began to dance around. It was cold enough for his hand to grow numb and his breath to be pure white.
It is a scenery as if the world turned into the arctic. It is a visual effect that Lanpeach is used to seeing.
[Soldier, the enemy is stronger than you. Don’t get easily killed!] (Libra)
[Dry: Level 3.]
“She is only 1 level higher! I won’t get killed easily.” (Lanpeach)
[You don’t look strong at all, Soldier. You look like a fodder minor villain. Ufufu, then, I will help you out!] (Libra)
Libra materializes while making fun of him. She plans on providing assistance.
Libra stood as a shield since she can at least tank the first hit.
Dry saw Libra suddenly appearing in midair. Her eyes opened wide in surprise, but her legs went deeper soon after and she glared at her like a carnivore.
“Last, give.” (Dry)
“Please finish that one properly by saying ‘Last warning’. Also, Libra, don’t show yourself until I give the signal if it is against a human.” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach showed a confident smile without even taking out his weapon.
Libra stared at him intently, guessing that he most likely has a plan here, and obediently disappeared.
(It is okay. I am used to seeing this effect.) -Lanpeach’s throat grew dry and his heart was drumming, but still acted as if it was nothing.
(Dry in her Fenrir Mode nullifies all attacks aside from magic. She also has shortened cast time, and can instantly activate spells 5 levels below her without the need to charge them. It is exactly because she is an overpowered mage that I can predict what she is trying to do.) (Lanpeach)
“Gau!”
[Blizzard Lance.]
Dry howled and created an ice spear while clad with a blizzard around. And then, she shot that ice spear mercilessly.
It is a spell that explodes when it lands, changes the surroundings into an ice field, and deals damage.
Guns are stronger, but it is also true that magic is more versatile.
She froze the ground and created a wall of ice afterwards while the ice spear approached.
Cold was dyeing away the world. The temperature lowered, snow began to dance, attempting to freeze Lanpeach.
[Soldier!] (Libra)
“Don’t get your panties in a bunch.” (Lanpeach)
Lanpeach responded to the panic of Libra with a smile, pointed the palm of his hand towards the spear, and said one thing.
“[Store.]”
The ring he was wearing in his index finger shone, and the approaching ice spear disappeared.
“Gau?”
Dry couldn’t understand why the spear that should have been a sure-kill had disappeared, and was dumbstruck.
That’s an ultimate technique for Dry.
There’s no enemy that can match her when she is fused with Pochifer, and she has defeated all enemies with her magic.
She thought it would even be possible to become the ruler of the slums. Dry was supposed to be the number one in the slums where power reigned supreme.
And yet, her spell got erased.
“Have it back.” (Lanpeach)
[Release.]
Lanpeach smiled and the ice spear appeared while maintaining the speed from before it was stored.
The spear that froze everything approached Dry, pierced her body, and froze her.
Dry turned into an ice statue and began to crumble.
The fragments began to fly about. A light sphere showed up and fell to the ground. And then, an unscathed Dry showed up from the light sphere and fell down.
[Instant.]
[Dry’s abdomen: Accuracy 100%.]
“Gafu!”
Ignore the process and only the result happens. Lanpeach kicked the stomach of Dry, ignoring the distance.
He readied his weapon with flowing movements just like that and pressed it onto the forehead of Dry.
“Element Fusion is overpowered. The main body shows up unscathed when the fusion is defeated after all. But you can’t do anything in this distance, right, Dry?” (Lanpeach)
That’s what’s overpowered about protagonists. They can come back even when defeated, so they can attack without fearing death. Moreover, you can only deal damage to the fusion with magic, and their attack power is quite high.
But Lanpeach has cleared the game with Dry. He can predict what spell she will be using if it is a 1vs1 when she is level 3.
He wouldn’t be able to win against a level 3 protagonist normally because their battle power is way too far apart, so he decided to gamble here.
And so, Lanpeach’s heart was currently pumping intensely from the fear and tension as if it were tachycardia. But he is showing an unfazed expression as if to show that he is the superior one here.
[Ooh, is that the power of that ring? It can absorb anything and shoot it back!] (Libra)
“That’s right. That’s why this ring is originally…no, it is nothing.” (Lanpeach)
That’s right. This Spatial Ring can store a single attack of the enemy. You can’t store the next attack unless you release it, but it is an OP <overpowered> item that can store all kinds of attacks.
Well, it is an item you obtain in mid-game so, at that stage of the game, the enemies can shoot attacks consecutively and area-of-effect attacks fly about, so it is useless. It is one of those hard to use items that all players would have liked to obtain early game which is a common feeling in games.
He was about to tell her this is normally an item you obtain in mid-game, but he reconsiders it, thinking there’s no need to tell her unnecessary information.
And then, he put a finger on the trigger of the gun.
“Bye, Dry. There’s nothing good from a protagonist being alive. You tried to kill me to begin with.” (Lanpeach)
“Au…”
Lanpeach directed ice cold eyes towards the teary Dry, and pulled the trigger…or not.
He sighed.
“Argh, there’s no way I can do it! I can’t kill a pretty girl. Moreover, Dry was a character I liked.” (Lanpeach)
The characters Lanpeach likes encompass all of the protagonists. He also likes the female sub-characters.
If he is asked why he is letting the female characters go or not killing them, he plans on answering that it is the pretty girl buff.
There’s no good or evil in that. Lanpeach simply liked female characters.
His default is that he would form parties with only female characters even if he knows they are weak.
[Swallow your tears and pull the trigger there! Let me pull the trigger for you.] (Libra)
“Hey, stop! I may be unreasonable, but I want to save female characters if possible!” (Lanpeach)
[The minor villain is saying something incredibly discriminatory!] (Libra)
“I am indeed a minor villain after all.” (Lanpeach)
[He has turned deviant!] (Libra)
He avoided Libra who got all on his business and tried to pull the trigger. It was getting all chaotic here, but…
“Dry, lost. Give up.” (Dry)
She said this weakly, so he was relieved and grinned.
“Ooh, then it is my win. And so, this bracelet is mine.” (Lanpeach)
Looks like Lanpeach has avoided the first death flag.
"Don't you want to Awaken, young lady?" Middle Sector. A place where people believe there…
"Nice, it looks like Sage made sure to get the guns I requested." (Lanpeach) Lanpeach…
