Chapter 200: A Makoto-like Asora diplomacy

200 Chapters! YAAAAAAY! 😀

At a place not that far away from the land of Asora, an extensive forest spreads.

I ordered them not to claim the territory.

And I also ordered them that they shouldn’t enter it recklessly.

This is not the only forest.

If you want to receive the grace of a forest, it is fine to just step into a different forest. There wasn’t any objection to that and was accepted.

Why did I do that?

It is because of the animals that use that forest as their territory.

Wolves.

Animals that are said to already be extinct in Japan.

The way they are viewed is different depending on the country, but in Japan, wolves are seen as prideful and intelligent animals, and were treated as the guardians of the forest.

Or at least that’s how I think.

For me, the Japanese wolves were animals that made me feel holiness in them.

And to think that I would be able to see them in a parallel world, or more like a parallel world of that parallel world. I was happy.

That’s why, by complete whim, I accepted their existence.

I didn’t want to take a measure like hunting them down just because they are an hindrance.

And, I am currently in that forest.

In both of my hands I have things like fruits, grains, and all sorts of big plates.

“I am here.” (Makoto)

After a while of walking through a path that would be fitting to call the path of the beast, a simple altar made of stones was in sight.

Leaving the big plates at the altar, I sit at a side of it and look up.

“So thick. The green is thick. The salty wind is not bad, but this calms me down more.” (Makoto)

Breathing deeply was really comfortable.

“It is rare for you to come on your own.”

“It is fine from time to time.” (Makoto)

A breathing reached my ears, and yet, his words were clearly relayed to me.

I have already gotten used to it, but it is an interesting sensation.

“Friendship huh. Well, that’s fine, Misumi. I have smelled an unusual scent from afar. Do you know something about that?”

“A God acquaintance did something a bit unreasonable you see. So a sea was made.” (Makoto)

“Sea?”

It seems like it was the first time the wolf heard of that word, he tilted his head.

I can feel the presence of several wolves in the area.

Looks like they are distancing themselves from the boss, and are at a set distance without getting closer than that.

“It is like a salt water lake that’s a lot bigger than this forest.” (Makoto)

“…Fumu. It is hard to believe, but if Misumi says so, that must be the case. Is it okay to think that it won’t affect our living?”

“Yeah. It is quite far after all. Actually, just what kind of nose you have there? Being able to smell it from here.” (Makoto)

“I was able to smell it from the plates and fruits that you are carrying there as well, you know? People are truly unhandy living beings huh.”

“Ahahaha, for a wolf, that might be the case. And so, about that proof of friendship, there’s a slightly different meaning to it as well.” (Makoto)

“…Are you talking about those weird flying insects?”

“…Right. Sorry, it seems like they caused you trouble.” (Makoto)

I don’t know what kind of fight the wolves had with the Al-Elemera, but there’s no doubt that they suddenly came barging in.

20% was to apologize, and the other 80% was because I wanted to meet the wolves after a while, and that’s why I came with cuts of fruits.

“No need to apologize. If it’s something of that level, we don’t mind. It is like having wasps getting slightly stronger.”

When hearing about wasps, I instinctively feel fear.

Its name is a representation of fear.

When looking at the Al-Elemera like that, they feel scarier.

“Is there anyone that got hurt?” (Makoto)

“None. But it is true that a slight problem has occurred.”

“I’m listening.” (Makoto)

“Before that, let me confirm this. Those guys won’t be coming here anymore?”

“They won’t. They have faced quite the scary experience, so they are completely scared of this forest.” (Makoto)

To the point that they are truly pitiful.

“I see. Actually…”

“Yeah?” (Makoto)

“Those guys, taste good.”

Hm?

“…”

“Like concentrated honey. A dense sweetness. It is quite…a delicacy.”

“…”

“In the past, we said that we won’t cause any harm to Misumi’s people. If those flying insects are the same as well, it is regrettable. That’s the problem.”

“They taste good?” (Makoto)

“Yeah. It is a lot more appealing than attacking a beehive.”

The wolf says this with a straight face.

I don’t think he is being serious, but the saliva that’s dripping from his mouth is real.

“Sorry, I want you to endure.” (Makoto)

“Can’t be helped. Misumi should be able to slaughter us all, and yet, asked to coexist. That debt is big. We will obey.”

“Thanks. I will be bringing the same that’s on the plate there, so eat it with everyone. I hope there’s something you like there.” (Makoto)

“We have plenty of grace from the forest. There’s no reason for Misumi to treat us well. I said this in the beginning but, there’s no need for you to give us anything, you know?”

“…Isn’t it fine? Let’s just leave it as coexisting by mingling from time to time like this.” (Makoto)

I am happy by the simple fact that they are here, is something I can’t say.

I feel like they would treat me like a weirdo.

…Maybe I am already being treated that way.

“What a strange man. Well, it is not as big as a thanks, but our side will tell the bears not to eat the flying insects.”

“…Bears. It is certainly true that they have the image of liking sweet things more than you guys.” (Makoto)

Or more like, it is their total favorite.

Honey Bear-san.

The combination is scarily fitting.

“They haven’t eaten the flying insects, so there shouldn’t be any problem. But if it’s after eating them, they probably would have gone on a rampage. But Misumi, we are living without involving ourselves with the people in the sky. That part of the talk, you will have to say it yourself.”

“Ah~, yeah, I understand. Thanks.” (Makoto)

I see.

There’s the chance that the Al-Elemeras might be eaten by bird of prey huh.

I feel like it won’t work if I just tell them not to go to the mountains.

It won’t be such a pain if I just teleport there, so let’s finish it now.

Even if I say that I will be going to talk with them, we are in Asora, so it should be fine to take it easy.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

A precipitous mountain.

At the ridges that are rising perpendicularly, there’s gorges that have green spreading.

It is a place that would be impossible to reach without having wings.

Or a body power like that of a serow.

Well, if I teleport there, it isn’t that much of a pain.

Different from walking in the forest, it would be tiresome to suddenly climb mountains.

“Ah, there he is.” (Makoto)

At a part of the hill, he was there.

A blue mass that one would have to look up like the Buddha-sama statue in Nara.

He looks like that even when he has his wings folded.

Crazy big would be exactly this.

As I get closer, I can tell that that lump is actually a bird with its wings folded.

He is the King of the birds in Asora.

It is not a falcon or an eagle.

It seems like it is a bird called Roc. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roc_(mythology)>

He is rarer than wolves, or more like, I feel like it is a mythical beast though. Its existence has such a sense of unrealism that it makes me feel like the wolves are amazing.

Because you know, at this point, it is already a mamono.

“The King huh, it’s been a while.”

“Long time no see. I am not used to that way of calling me though.” (Makoto)

He calls me King.

But I just don’t feel it.

I feel like calling me landlord-san or something like that fits more.

“I am surprised you have come here from such a long distance. It seems like you are doing well with the winged-kins but, is it a different business?”

He cleanly ignores it.

“Kinda. I have a request regarding the new race living here.” (Makoto)

“Ah, the one about a lot of races making a racket in the lake of crazy size, is it about that?”

“No, that’s another matter. About the sea, if there’s birds that can live there, it is fine to let them.” (Makoto)

“Hoh~, that lake is called sea huh. It is truly big. I could feel a diverse amount of lives as well.”

“You must have. Right now the people that want to live there are in the middle of a test. They will be living at the beach or in the sea, so I don’t think they will clash with the living beings in the sky.” (Makoto)

It seems like the Roc bird has gone to see the sea as well.

I am surprised that he and the wolves are able to sense the happenings of something so far away.

“I will tell the others about it.”

“And so, today’s request is about a fairy race called Al-Elemera.” (Makoto)

“…It is a name I don’t know of. If it’s people that live in the sky, I will look after them though.”

“No, I think they are closer to insects that live in the mountains or the rivers. I am not that well informed in that aspect either though.” (Makoto)

“…Is it fine to just tell them not to eat those guys?”

“You get it fast. They have wings and fly in the sky, but their looks are like that of small people, so it would be a big help not to eat them.” (Makoto)

“Understood. If it’s people of the King, I will have them be careful of not hunting them.”

“I am sorry for bothering you while you were resting. Then, later.” (Makoto)

“If you have any errand, you can tell us. I don’t mind if you call me.”

“Yeah, I won’t hesitate in coming here.” (Makoto)

“Say my regards to the new people of the King.”

With this, the matter of the Al-Elemera should be okay.

Now then, after looking at the situation at the sea, I will show my face at the store.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

Heh~ the Lorelei are building the port town and living at the seashore huh.

It did say in the documents that they originally lived at the reefs, but maybe Sari suggested it, or it might be because they wanted a better environment and are building the town.

The beach is wide, and from what I have seen, the waves are calm.

It is like the sea in a resort.

I think it is a good place.

“Waka-sama.”

Ah, it is Sari.

“It looks like you are doing your best in the job.” (Makoto)

“It is the first job Waka-sama has given me after all.” (Sari)

“Right now you are working as the advisor of the Lorelei?” (Makoto)

“Yes. But even if I say this, I feel like there won’t be any problems occurring and the test time will end just like this though.” (Sari)

“Isn’t that good? And so, after the Lorelei tried living here, did they think about staying?” (Makoto)

This is a part that I am interested in.

“Of course. It seems like a relationship with the other races is beginning to form, so it looks good.” (Sari)

“With the other races? That’s pretty progressive. Can you tell me the details?” (Makoto)

I heard a *dadada* sound of something running at fast speed.

I reflexively look at the direction of the sound.

Tunaman was running.

At a full sprint reminiscent of athletes.

It looked like it had a really thin box, but its contents are unknown.

“The interaction with the Neptune Sea Lord is prosperous.” (Sari)

“Ah, I see.” (Makoto)

I heard that tunas are incredibly fast in the sea, but it seems like they are fast in land too.

They are not using their fins, but their two strong pair of feet that I don’t know where they grew from though.

Ah, it jumped into the sea just like that.

What a terrific ability in both land and water.

“They are a race that doesn’t lose to that exaggerated name. The hikyaku tuna-san that was running just now is counted as well, but it seems like the herculean strength Red King Crab-san -of the same race- is able to break giant rocks and adjust the currents, you know? I also didn’t know of that race. The world is really wide.” (Sari)

A hikyaku tuna-san, and a herculean strength Red King Crab-san?

A courier of ancient japan huh.

I can understand that couriers are powerful.

Like hell that’s the case.

First of all, it is strange that a tuna that feels like it would be able to participate in the triathlon and a Red King Crab that probably looks like a crab, are of the same race.

It is strange, right?

Isn’t it strange?

“I feel like putting it as ‘the world is wide’ isn’t enough of an explanation.” (Makoto)

“It seems like they are mingling with other races aside from the Lorelei. I think they will become the key race of the sea.” (Sari)

Sari was evaluating them with feelings of respect.

I don’t know if she is just pure or deviated.

In my case, how to say it…I am interested in the Neptunes in a different sense.

That they are social is pleasant, or how to say it, mysterious.

Even if I didn’t have plans on meeting her, I was able to see the state of Sari.

I would be happy if she were to find a way of life here in Asora.

Whether it is the forest, mountains, or the sea.

In the end, this was a tour through the Asora nature, but this way of passing time is not bad.

I returned to my house, and while preparing for my trip to Rotsgard, I felt somewhat refreshed.

  1. Thanks for the chapter. nothing much to say other than surprised at the roc as the leader of the birds since I think its a mythical creature, would have thought it would be some bird in our world like the eagle a predatory bird from japan

  2. Thanks for the chapter. It’s interesting to see how the various races are getting along, and find out more about the native species that were born from Asora itself.
I was just expecting normal animals, but then it was revealed the Earth animals in Asora were actually frightningly strong, enough to hunt the Liz from the wasteland easily. And now we see they’re intelligent and able to negotiate with Makoto too. Both the wolf leader and Roc gave off the air of noble dignity, they were kind of cool.
I wonder if Makoto is going to try and see what happens if one of them leaves Asora and enters the world he was summoned to? I’m betting they’ll be super strong. If they joined his other followers if a battle broke out between one of the countries, they’ll probably be unbeatable even if Makoto does nothing?

    1. In terms of combat power in the other world I’m mentally placing them at Arkes(Alkies?), where they’re not peerless, but it would take a whole lot of high level adventurers to bring them down in mutual destruction.

      1. Certainly tough enough to be in the same league as the highland orcs and mist lizards. Even Ema said it would be dangerous to live in Asora if they didn’t have Makoto’s ‘Divine Protection’, which meant him going over and negotiating for his his people to leave them alone so long as they don’t threaten them as well.
Those poor fairies tried to run off without that and got made into sweet snacks……..it was their own fault though.

  3. Congratulations on reaching 200 chapters. You are probably one of the transkators that has lasted the longest.
Thanks for the chapter. Lookimg forward to the next 100 and counting;)

  4. ..fairy….an insect?…man all those other novels about the fairy being legendary seems like a joke after the evaluation of the fairies from asora’s group.

and congratulation for the 200 chapter.Hope you continue translating the chapters and Thanks for the Hard-work!!

  5. Well first of all 200th Kampai!!!!!!!! Congrat Regokai sensei you hited the 200 chapters, thanks for the effort so far. Finally we guet to see more of the natural live in Asora and their new habitants, is funny how natural Makoto comunicates with the animals in Asora way better than how he has to deal with hymans and Demons. Really if someday he decides to wave war against a kingdom, he can use the wolves and birds as an black ops unit to wreck mahym in there.

  6. maybe asora can use Al-Elmera for food crisis since they taste like concentrated honey.
    Tunaman?
Is it the same as japanese tv comercial show of a snack/junk food.
these chapter seems like a cool-off period from all the past.
Sari. what will you do next?

  7. Thanks for the 200th Chapter! (ノ゚ヮ゚)ノ° ¤ ° ˚*¤・゜゜・¤・゜☆゜° ¤ ° ˚*
so we have a wolf land king, a roc sky king, and a tuna sea king/race, is there a super mole or worm underground king or something that they haven’t met yet i wonder XD

  8. Reigo-san are you sure you’re doing sponsored chapters? the queue is still increasing LOL! thanks for the chapter, quite short. the author didn’t seem to celebrate his 200th chapter

  9. thanks for the chapter and congrats on the 200th chapter.
hope this fast release dont affect you. take it easy man.
my previous comment got deleted or the connection problem.

    thanks for the chapter.

  10. congrats on reaching 200 chapters!
we finally get a glimpse of Asora’s original inhabitants and they are as unreasonable as Makoto it seems. Will they play a role in the story later I wonder?

    1. you just make me imagine the think Patrick tell to the Bikini Bottom people after the GIANT-ALASKAN-BULL-WORM…. dont tell me they will move BIKINI BOTTOM to ASORA after this :/

  11. Not much I can retort this chapter….

Well except for tunaman, wtf is tunaman… they have glorious name for god’s sake.
It’s like calling human, an oversized chimpanzee…
I wonder if tunaman eat tuna ? Human (some of it) can eat monkey without a moral problem, so maybe tunaman can do it too ?

  12. Congratulations on the 200th chapter kai-senpai !!.
Asora is very interesting, they have a manager for each and there really is a bird Roc wow, makoto is the king of Asora ahaha this leads me to think if he will be immortal or else trancendera to save Asora

  13. Thanks for the chapter >:D it’s 200 chap!!!
i’m curious about how Reigo-san gonna maintain the release, i mean if i count properly there is gonna be a stack release day like today (Sponsored and daily) because the last daily release is 1 Feb, and now 5 which mean it’s daily release time…. i don’t want this series ended soon T_T

  14. ugh,,, 200 T_T feels nostalgic about the moment I started to become rei-san follower when it was around 30.
really really good job and thanks :v
So, asora isn’t only producing land but beasts and animals too huh, interesting…I wonder if asora growing again then some ruin or even population will be appear :v

    1. Oh man. I can’t remember when I started reading this.

It was pretty early though, since I was worried something so short wouldn’t end up a dropped translation that gave me an unresolved cliffhanger.

…And then Reigokai got used to it. 😀

  15. Im a little confused, is this a sponsored chapter? Or a 4-day chapter? Are we still geting a sponsored chapter today? Or was this it? And thank you very much for this chapter. It was great.

  16. Thanks for the chap and congratulation for the 200th!!!

What a good chapter! I was always curious about the relationship between Makoto and the “spawned” inhabitants of Asora…wolfs king is treated with bro-like friendship (only Makoto at least) while sky-king with already king~¿servant?

But Mio….you really suggested Anton….Al-Elmera for their savour…

Tomoe:”Winged people are really strong…and have a lot of abilities that will grow Asora military power!!”
    Ema:”ok..”

Shiki:”Gorgons are powerfull and like reserc magic and alchemy like me…they will be really handfull!”
    Ema:”good..”

    Mio:” Al-Emera are sweet!!”
    Ema:”…yeah and?”
Mio:” they are really sweet…more than honey!!!”
    Ema:”…hah?”
Mio:” Waka will be deligted…their tast…sweetness is quite addigting!!!”
    Ema:”…….ooook”

  17. Thanks for the chapter reigokai-sensei…
Nice wild resident you got makoto…
Now i think it pop out that makoto is their king, cause they know makoto true name…
    Congratulation for 200 chapter…
Sorry bad at english … lol

  18. they can still hunt for boar, deer, fish, etc . It just that he have first contact with the wolves that they make an agreement of peace with the Asora people and the Wolves have quite high intelligence

  19. Before is wolf, now is roc bird. Ha-ha~
This author really like to skip thing, but it’s better than other novel that too much detail and just explain everything in main chara.
Thanks for chap and Horay for 200

  20. wait . . . .are people in Asora shouldn’t hunt for a beast (especially Makoto since he could speak with those beast)?. so they could only eat fruit/vegetable?

    1. i think its not like that, it just that the Wolves have made contact with Makoto at early time and made Peace Agreement. They still can hunt for other animal like boar, deer, fish, etc. but they also dont want to provoke extermination by Makoto

    2. I wonder if they able to hunt wild life in asora, considering wolf actually more stronger than them.
They might be raising other livestock there’s though

      1. That’s a good question, actually.

It doesn’t feel like mamono that live in the wasteland would raise livestock, but Asora is apparently natively overpowered.

….Hmm. Maybe there are some “acceptable” livestock animals that exist in there? The wolves have to hunt something, after all.

It does bring up the question of how Makoto can be comfortable eating something he can talk to(which is effectively everything sentient) though.

        1. Didn’t the wolves only ate honey? If I remember correctly the wolf boss said that he and his kin like to eat al-efemera (don’t care about those insects they are annoying) better than catching honey bees… or at least that’s what I thought

  21. Reading thus chapter make me wonder how long Asora exist?
    1. Just a couple months(years?)
    2. As old as Makoto.
    3. Much longer than Makoto live.

At first, I thought It’s born the moment Makoto make contract with Tomoe.
But in this chapter the wolf and roc seem to longer than 1. and the roc call Makoto King so, I kind of support 2.
But the moment god thrown the sea into Asora, the octopus are there already.
So may be 1. is still possible.
Well, there’s possibility that both Makoto and God jacked and seize the Asora and sea from other worlds as well.

What do you think? I personally think it’s 2. though.

    1. maybe just a couple of months? it did said that asora looks like japan because of makotos homesickness and also the stars so maybe deep inside he wanted to see wolves or roc or any mythical creatures so he unknowingly created them. It is his world after all so he can do anything he wants. Or maybe they were transported from another world? Just where did they came from? Or is it that makotos world is some kind of parallel world that has living creatures already but hasnt fully opened its entire world? but god did created the sea so maybe no? I hope this gets revealed.

    1. And Congratz for 200 chapters…
      :3…

      — “I see. Actually…”
      “Yeah?” (Makoto)
      “Those guys, taste good.” —
      Ahahahaha…
      XD…

      — I heard that tunas are incredibly fast in the sea, but it seems like they are fast in land too.
They are not using their fins, but their two strong pair of feet that I don’t know where they grew from though. —
To many watch anime, I got a vivid view about them run on the beach…
      XD…

Wolf, Bear, Shark, Giant Octopus, and a whooping Roc, his Zoo is to vast…
      XD…

  22. Somehow seeing this now really making me comparing Asora with Touhou’s Gensokyo world where the inhabitant mostly peace with sometimes incident with Makoto enforcing the law like Hakurei Reimu but with also Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki act like the Yakumo family (Tomoe being the first that have the ability to open gate to Asora like Yukari, and Mio who like to bullying Shiki like how Ran infatuated with Chen)
the resident of the world (the wolves, roc, sea creature) like the Youkai in Gensokyo, the migrating people like the people that got spirited away or forgotten in earth and got transfered there

  23. Thank you for 200th chapter, and of cause, congratulation!

This chapter makes me a bit disappointed about peaceful situation in bug’s world. After all, it’s seem like we will never see all Asora in full action. Now they have so many powerful races, some with unique ability too. When combined with unique advantages of Asora, those are absolute transportation capability, perfect supply lines, exclusive preemptive right, safe home base and etc., Asora is pretty much peerless to any hyumans or demons faction (maybe humans too, we don’t teleportation yet),and it still growing. But Makoto and all leaders so far known bad side of war and wisely avoid conflict. Especially Makoto, he and his aides are likely to go into action rather than deploy their troops. At this rate I suspect that there are few situation that Asora would need to go all out, such as bug open hostility against it with all hyuman to distract Makoto and his aides, or someone (magnificently) manage to seal their action to some degree, or bug crushed Asora and kill some parts of its residents, reduce their maximum power (not that I would like to see this). Right now I almost miss those idiot fascist villain who wage war to be crushed for audience’s pleasure, but that might too easy for this novel. For Lily’s plan with firearms, I wonder if they can harm Asora by then. Guns can aim at one direction, but Asora can attack from all direction, includes above, at almost zero-range.

    1. I get what you mean. Asora has all this power, but almost no opportunity to use it. The only one that could really start something with them is the Bug, and she’s on Makoto’s level more than any resident’s. It kind of feels like wasted potential.

That said, I can admire what the story’s done so far too. There’s a certain dignity to not having suicidally hostile and arrogant characters pick fights in your story just so other characters have the chance to show off. This keeps the characters, enemies or not, believable and any payoff much more meaningful.

There are “individuals” who do that like that one top level adventurer in the first(last) town, but even then it’s more about lack of information and living in a small world.

  24. Did Sari just mentioned that the Lorelei are somehow unfriendly?

Also im wondering that Makoto’s description about the wolf is lacking. The boss might be big like the bird as well. Like one of those anime movies where there are giant animals that they are also called spirits of the forest

    1. You mean Princess Mononoke? Or was it Momonoke? Hmm. Anyways, I wouldn’t be surprised if the wolves are dire wolves either, or the bears are short-faced bears as well. It would explain why the animals of Asora are so dangerous to the migrants, especially if they were enhanced by the magic in the air.

  25. i wonder what would happen if any dragon where to appear suddently that might come to have tomo or root be beatten silly by them (more root tough)

  26. Thanks for the chapter. It’s 200th translated chapter, congratulations (applause came from evangelion). Good job, keep up the good work!

The japanese wolves… it’s reminds me of an ancient japanese folklore wolves in the movie called “Ronin” and it’s HUGE! If they exist in Asora so no wonder Makoto favored them very well.
The Roc…the king of the sky. Another must have and literally HUGE existence in Asora Mountains. Think of a huge bird in dinosaur era living, Did Makoto watch documentaries of extinct creatures too much?
    The running charging tunas…….why?
The red king crab looks like a seaside boss. I’m not surprise if the Megalodon and Kraken existing in Asora sea. Let’s hope that Misumi might visit and greet them in the near future chapter.

  27. Regalia-check, Animal Association-CheckCHeck, Followers/Angels/Valkyries/or whatever Tomoe,Mio,Shiki are -Check, Realm-Check, Worshiper…I mean ‘People’- Check. All he needs now is/are Temples dedicated to him…hhhmmmm did I say temples.

  28. 200th chapter FTW
    Congratulations Reigo-san.

    It’s been a long journey.
And it was a very enjoyable one.

Like makoto said, the japanese sees the wolf with reverence. Heck it’s one of Amaterasu no Mikami’s incarnation. If any of you remember the game Okami by Capcom, we play as a wolf in the game which is Amaterasu form in doing the journey (game).

  29. I wonder why they knew Makoto is the creator of this world?
Did they just appear and have Makoto is god as a basic knowledge? Or Makoto comes and introduce himself(probably not) Or they just feel Makoto Magic power in land?

    1. I don’t think they completely realize or act under that knowledge though.

The feeling I got from their interactions was treating Makoto like a friendly king from a powerful neighboring country. Respectful and cooperative, but not actually subordination.

    2. He ran into the wolves at some point, according to Shiki, and they gnawed on him for a while. So for the wolves, it is the respect of a more dangerous predator. I’m guessing they let him know there was a king of the sky at that point, and he introduced himself to avoid similar problems.

    1. Crud… that comment I made got messed up due to my server issues.

“Sorry I’m late, I was afk when this was posted. And… watching Dangan Ronpa most of the day. Still, congrats on 200 chapters, Reigo-senpai!!!

Spoiler-san’s going to be away for a while. This time when we (as in he while possessing me) got hit by Truck-kun, Spoiler-san got sent to another world instead of returning to the 5th dimension. So looks like he’s gonna have to fight a demon king or something before returning. I don’t know the details. But yeah, I forgot to mention that Makoto can talk to wolves. And this one’s on me, but the Crab guys are going to be of importance later on.

Now if you will excuse me, I’m gonna enjoy my time away from Spoiler-san. You guys can wish him luck if you want to, I’m not. I hope he gets his just desserts in that other world.”

Don’t ask, it was my internet. I’m gonna ask Reigo-senpai to delete the old one.

  30. Thanks 4 the chapter and congratulation on the 200th chapter!

Asora’s animals are clearly not normal animals, even if they do look the same. I wonder if all the animals are sentient.

  31. 200 chapters, just amazing. Good job. 😀
Only Makoto would be able to hold such a casual conversation with such creatures. I wonder if the creatures were brought there or created (I know some were brought their, but were all of them)? I do agree with the possible future of the people in Asora praising various creatures and Makoto the Creator.

  32. 😮
    Mythology Beasts……
and that Leader Wolf… i bet he become one of The Mytology beast as well…
and all of them so respect toward Makoto…
well… because Makoto is their Creator….
now let’s wait till Makoto meet with The King of The Sea…. (hope is Megalodon… xD)

    1. That’s actually a good point. What exactly is their understanding of their creation?

Did they just suddenly exist after Makoto’s pact with Tomoe? Did they feel that they’ve always existed?

      1. Both of those are magical mythic beasts though, Roc almost fits in that category, but not quite, it’s wings are supposed to be massive enough to create storms with a flap. The wolves could just be a type of Dire Wolf, just regular wolf with King Kongism, or yeah, it could be Garmr. Oh, but check this out: [The obvious attribute of the wolf is its nature of a predator, and correspondingly it is strongly associated with danger and destruction, making it the symbol of the warrior on one hand, and that of the devil on the other.]
Found that on the wolf myths wiki page, the symbol of warriors and the devil, means these are Makoto’s. lol

      2. Since these wolves seem a dire-wolf version of the Japanese kind… so gray dire-wolves? Anyway, what I want to say is that while the boss wolf could be or become something like Fenrir, I personally it’s more likely an Ookami, a wolf god of sort.

      3. Hmm considering this wolf is Japanese wolf (canis lupus hopdophilax) who rather small compared to others wolf (although not most small in the world) I doubt it will become garm or Fenrir who possibly prototype came from Eurasian wolf, well since this novel possibility it becomes either garm or Fenrir might be there, hell might even become skoll

  33. wow just….wow….makoto’s “can speak any language” power’s is literally crazy.
also why do i get the feeling then pack leader wolf and the Rock are ether become his pets or some how turn in to something humanoid like thing….hay you never know i mean a dragon and a giant spider turn into a human so i don’t see it being to hard for that to happen.

  34. Haha, thanks for the 200th chapter.

Its really being a while since i followed reigo san.
Thankz for all the hard work.

  35. Thanks and congratz for the 200th chapters.
You’ve been through a lot to reach this chapter. XD

Ooh, so this is the chapter that we’ve talking about. Indeed, the sea races discussion appear on here.
    Wwwww

  36. Oh man. So Wolves were a secret extra Asora Resident? Well, why not? Kinda silly how respectful Makoto is being to them, but I guess that’s just how he is, and it’s not like it’s causing any harm to him at this point. An extinct species found in a parallel world to a parallel world, indeed.

I like these wolves. The Al-Elemera tasted good, so they’re sad that they can’t eat them anymore under the agreement with Makoto. What more can you say to that? The boss seems to be very respectful to Makoto, but not exactly his subordinate. Hmm….kings of neighboring countries, I guess?

……Oi. A Roc? Makoto, you’re kinda skipping some important information there, aren’t you? Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but a Roc is already on the same level of myth as, for example, a Minotaur or a Kraken, isn’t it? Once again, the poor Al-Elemera are classified as “that thing we shouldn’t eat”.

W-Wait…so the incredibly fast Tuna-man and current-changing Red King Crabs are both considered Neptune Sea Lords? Wh…Is it like worker ants vs soldier ants? Is…Is it a gender thing? E…Ethnic variations? Either way, I’m surprisingly more disturbed by the idea of a Tuna-type Sea Lord charging at me full speed than a lot of other scarier-sounding things.
Also, is it safe to assume that nobody else finds the idea of a Fish-with-Limbs race bizarre in this world? Sari seemed to take it in stride and Makoto’s followers were the ones that found and pre-approved of them.

    1. I’m surprisingly more disturbed by the idea of a Tuna-type Sea Lord charging at me full speed than a lot of other scarier-sounding things.

Well here you go then (hope this works):

    2. I feel that rocs are less like Minotaur, and more like thunderbirds or megalodon. Animals that existed near or during the dawn of man and managed to survive in our stories.

      1. Oh. It’s just occurred to me that we might be thinking of different Roc lore.

I’m thinking of the kind that’s big enough to pick up elephants as a hunting method, 24 feet long feathers, creating storms when it flaps its wings…things like that.

……Unless that sort of bird is also what you’re talking about(minus the storm bringing)?

        1. Now that elephant thing is probably exaggerated! I’m thinking of things that would be more realistic, yes. Given a bird of prey’s body, strong muscles and weaker, fragile bones to allow for flight, rocs would have to be bigger than any dragon to do that. The thunderbird was also said to create gales, but that was likely to be exaggeration as well. What I am sure of is that the stories of the thunderbird’s flapping sounding like thunder, and the ability to lift small children away are true, as that’s consistent with what I’d imagine large versions of condors to be capable of. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the roc’s mythology as you seem to be. I do know that humans have oral memories of the times when large versions of modern animals lived, and hunters, warriors, and priests had a tendency to exaggerate greatly back then, so that’s what I’m basing most of this on. After all, Marco Polo said he saw dragons on his trips east.

          1. Thing is, you should just think of the Roc as the Persian equivalent of other mythical creatures such as a Phoenix, Garuda, and Yatagarasu. A gigantic immortal bird(and in persian, the roc and the phoenix are often referred to as the same thing).

As for the size, it’s still way too big to think of it in the same way as the dire-wolf, whale and megalodon comparison you made earlier.

          2. Hmm. Perhaps y’all are right. I’m not going to entirely let go of the idea of a rl equivalent of a roc, but it seems there aren’t any variations of size for the roc’s size in the myths, so I might need to concede the point for now. But it would still be amazing if there was an eagle species that was big enough for people to talk about resulting in the stories snowballing into what we know of as the roc today.

          3. No, I don’t think it’s far fetched at all to think the Roc might’ve been inspired by a bird that actually existed.

Firstly, as far as I know, unlike the other two mythical birds, the Roc acts like an animal. It hunts, it feeds, it fucks up anyone stupid enough to mess with its eggs, and…that’s pretty much it. The other birds have more divine lore or fantastical tales tied to them.

Secondly, back then people were smaller, relied on hearsay to pass around information, and tended to jump to conclusions when they made observations. Humans *now* would stretch the truth for various silly reasons as well. Nevermind a giant variant, I could easily believe a typical large bird of prey spawning rumors of the Roc.

          4. That’s he thing though. While some myths were spawn from grown-out-of-proportion tell tales of sightings, a lot of myths don’t seem to come from that. I think it’s very likely that people merely envisioned something they thought of as divine(out of mortal norm), thinking of beings of ultimate power. If they think of an animal as majestic or as a representation of something, there will be(in most cases) a higher being based on that animal yet still different(as in not based on sightings, but rather on what the “king” or “strongest” of that kind of animal would be. Thus bringing the myths of legendary creatures based purely on imagination and faith. This is what I meant.

      2. Thing is… in terms of size, a Roc is like a whale flying in the sky. This is a real mythological being that is some times even characterized as pretty much the same thing as a phoenix(in middle-eastern Persian myths).

      3. What’s more, the myths of the Roc are comparable to those of the Garuda(the king of birds and the divine giant bird of Vishnu). Thus also meaning that it’s also comparable to the Yatagarasu in a way(though obviously less powerful… for now).

    3. Considering what we talking here Japanese wolf who extremely rare to level it’s classifieds as extinct species (there few doubtful report about sight seeing) also some shrine worship them Makoto attitude kinda logical
As for Roc so far what I know the only one from myth dunno about real life example
As for that fish like human……………….. I wonder if they taste good #drool

  37. So to sum it up, the God is doing simple inspection of its people.

……wait. For the land, he has the Wolf. For the sky, he has the Roc. Then for the water…… does he ever made one?

    1. Since the water is a new addition, and not related to Makoto himself, a “king” hasn’t really shown itself or settled in yet.

Which is fine, considering how many races are already moving in.

        1. To be honest, after recently seeing “Moana”, I kinda like the idea of an orgamism that blends in with the sea and seems to be a part of it.

Maybe some overpowered variation of slime, or of the tiny colony of organisms that made up the purple clouds.

          1. That’s be awesome. I love slimes(but not the pathetic King Quest slime varieties. Those aren’t slimes, they are nothing but blobs.) Oozes are awesome, and should be feared. The people who decided/thought that slimes are fit to be weak creatures for when low level are morons.

This is once again another case in which lovecraft comes to the rescue. Shoggoths and the like are where it’s at!

    2. Well on the previous chapter it is said that some race that afraid of shark and octopus is retiring the migration test

Meaning that there is shark or octopus as candidate

  38. Thanks for the chapter~!

King of the Wolves and King of the Skies, eh? Just what sort of world did you dream up Makoto???

    1. Now what do you suppose the King of the Sea will be? There’s already sharks and giant octopi, so something beyond that?

Oh who am I kidding, it will obviously be a Kraken because tentacles.

  39. Roc seems like a proper candidate to become one of Makoto’s direct subordinates… it would make it a Dragon of illusions, a Spider that brings calamity, an ancient (perhaps?) Lych and a Mythical Bird, sounds about right doesn’t it? wonder if the bird is strong enough though… Anyways it would balance the followers unless it’s female xD

    1. A mythical bird would be awesome, but as you might expect, I don’t think the Roc has much of a chance to contract with Makoto. His first contract was with a Superior Dragon already, so his scale of power has gotten a bit ridiculous.

….Ooo. If we’re talking legendary birds, though, the Yatagaratsu the three gods rode there on might be an okay candidate.

      1. Huh. Yeah, I could see some people seeing Roc-ish birds and just exaggerating tales until it became what it is. But that’s applicable to almost all creatures.

Behemoths might’ve been elephants, leviathans might’ve been whales…this Roc, as described, is nothing that ever really existed, isn’t it?

        1. Prehistoric animals have always been larger than their modern descendants. Dire wolves, short-faced bears, condors, those elk that make moose look small. I personally feel that this was due to increased oxygen content in the air. Really, there’s no way of knowing, but I don’t think it’s hard to believe that a breed of eagle or hawk was as large as the roc was supposed to be. And bird remains are probably harder to preserve considering the fragility of their bones, plus the fact that it takes a good million years to fossilize. If I remember right, we actually have very few actual fossils of animals of the last few 100 millennia, except for those found in tar pits and the like, right?

          1. Man. From quantum theory, to mythology, to sociology, to Lovecraftian creature discussion, to video game references, to paleontology.

Is there anything this story won’t teach us?
            Raidou-sensei indeed~

      1. Yeah, the author basically just gave me a freebie just as I decided to start this little running joke of my own.

        Mio’s Notes

Ala-Elma/Al-Elfera/Al-Erlmala: Buzzing and noisy faerie, but deliciously sweet to eat raw. Flavor most complements itself when sprinkled with salty and zesty spices, then roasted over open fire or grilled upon Waka’s hot iron machine. Not as delicious smoked due to small quantities of meat per creature, but “meat processing” might fix-
        …….
        …….
Ignore previous notes….Eating them not recommended due to Waka putting them under his protection….

      1. Not really, just ready some big net and a large wok or pan… lots of salt, a bottle of soy sauce, cooking oil…

    1. If your editor won’t mind, I can cover for him. I have time for now, though most I can do is proofread your translation and correct them if there are errors.

    1. That’s a nice dream….when I got the email notification, the first thing I did was head right here but lo an behold….4 comments already up….I tried. ;(

    1. Aww! It’s just occurred to me that we have another chapter tomorrow according to schedule.

Which means less time to really talk about this current one. Fortunately it seems to be on the shorter side.

    1. so we have 1 regularly scheduled sponsored chapter, 1 free sponsored chapter and 1 regular chapter every 4 days in a week, we will be getting 2-4 chaps a week depending on the length and pace of reigo-sama..banzaiii

    1. In the future of Asora mythology the king of wolves and the king of the skies will be treated as divine beast that conversation with the god of creation, Makoto Misumi.
As short as this chapter was, it was kinda nice seeing him interact with the wildlife.

      1. About them, I wonder what would happen if he ever made use of all of those animals? I mean, a single wolf is considered dangerous to level 100+ individuals. If he was to ever use them as an assault force in a battle… He wouldn’t need to send any mamonos in that battle, in all likelihood at least.

      2. He wouldn’t think of using them like that. The only way he would if they force him to use them. By they I mean the animals. He doesn’t like to involve people in harm if necessary. He rather sacrifice himself than others that he consider ally or friend. Remember what he said to sari about the simple logic.

It’s not a bad thing but a disadvantage to those who will.

        1. Yeah, I see Asora natives as more of a natural home defense measure.

Invaders have to travel through their territory and…well…You can ask the Al-Elemera how that went.

Alternatively, Makoto or one of his followers warps in some big mamono they don’t feel like fighting and the wolves/birds take it down as free food.

I’ve said this before, but I’d totes pay good money to see wolves hunt something like…say, a hydra. Or a pack of lesser dragons.
