Chapter 143: If it’s 3 days, it’s still fine

It has been 3 days since then.

Academy Town is still in chaos.

The turmoil caused by the variants that’s believed to be the deed of the demon race, in the end, from the first day till today, the variants continued their advance with their purpose still unknown.

In the first day I passed a night at one of the evacuation points, the demi-human’s slum.

At night we all reunited to exchange information, but there was no especially important information, if there’s one thing, it would be about the company’s circulation of goods method. Looks like Root is going to do something about it. That’s what I heard from Tomoe.

At the second day, the situation moved into a bad direction.

There were two big points.

The first one is that the communication network of the town has stopped working. The information from the surrounding towns couldn’t be relayed anymore and since there’s no response from the calls in this side, it has turned into a situation where it is unknown if it has actually reached or not.

Even if one tries to do thought transmission inside the town, you have to be in a close range or it won’t reach. If the person doing the transmission is skilled, it will reach for about 1 or 2 kilometers; if both sides are skilled, it will reach about 3 kilometers. That’s how the situation has deteriorated into.

Thinking about the wideness of the town, it is quite the harsh situation. It’s a situation where it will be hard to even consider exchanging information with the neighboring towns.

Well, if there are really skilled thought transmission users in the Academy side, it might be possible.

From what I heard of Tomoe, because of this, the Academy’s movements have grown a lot duller, so the thought transmission jamming is showing clear effects.

From what Shiki told me, the reason is because of the good amount of magic devices that are set up in various places around town.

He showed me one and it was pretty small. It is cylinder shaped with a size close to that of a 500 ml pet bottle.

A large quantity of them are set up in town and outside of it as well. It seems their main purpose is jamming the thought transmissions.

Looks like they were for quite some time in places like: inside pillars, below the floor, buried in the ground; in a lot of places. ‘And before they were activated, they showed no reaction so were unable to detect them’, is what Shiki and Lime apologized for.

If they were able to detect devices before they are activated, that would be pretty impressive.

The moment I heard about this, I was impressed by the demon race who probably took quite a long time to thoroughly set up these devices.

They must have done this through task laboriously. How diligent.

For some reason, I imagined an epic domino line.

I felt like destroying all the dominos, but I restrain myself.

Just like how the demon race can use their thought transmission in this, we are also able to normally use our thought transmission.

Looks like it only blocks the normal thought transmission.

In this place, it is impossible to intercept the contents of our thought transmission, and we also have methods to code the important contents; so, from now on, we are perhaps the only power that can use thought transmission properly.

‘That’s why, if you want to destroy the devices, I want you to do so after we have finished our moves’ is what Tomoe said.

The other point is the increase in variants.

The reason being, there were some people that were involved with the variant incident and transformed in the evacuation points. In other words, danger appears in the places of evacuation. A bad situation.

That means there were quite the amount of people using the demon race’s drug.

Could it be, the demon race was spreading them around randomly?

Whichever it is, instead of calling the chaos as the objective, it is more like the intention of this is to damage Academy Town.

At noon of the first day, I talked with all of my followers and compute all the people that have a similar necklace to that of Ilumgand.

To pinpoint the cause.

One of the reasons may be because they are in a stressful place like a shelter, and because of that, their spirit becomes unstable and several have turned into a variant just like Ilumgand.

Being in a situation where they are unable to use thought transmission might be one of the reasons as well.

To reduce the damage, I notified the employees to confiscate those accessories, and reduced the damage of the evacuation points we were stationed in.

Regarding the Mist Lizards that are following Rembrandt-san, I have received reports from them about the safety of the couple and a rough summary of the situation in the merchant guild.

By the second day, the people that have experience fighting mamonos, bodyguards, and people like mercenaries were gathered and organized as units. Looks like they began moving to remove the danger of the variants.

I have received reports saying that they moved on the offensive instead of defensive mostly thanks to the influence of the Rembrandt couple.

The Guild Representative that went on the offensive, gathered the company representatives, the employees, and the people related to the guild, and proposed the idea of creating units to protect the town.

Maybe he proposed this because of the losses of the stores, products and even the merchants itself. Or maybe that was his true character. I don’t really know.

Sadly, there’s also plundering targeted at the stores that are still okay.

Maybe because my store and the ones in the surroundings were destroyed, when I heard the report, even when knowing it was imprudent, a part of me felt relieved that there were also other stores that were suffering damages from it. I am the worst.

At the night meeting of the second day, it was made clear that there were around 80 inside the town. And that variants appeared in several evacuation points that were not under the supervision of the Kuzunoha Company and were destroyed.

There probably wasn’t anyone who was able to fight in those places.

The Academy’s support was not directed at the evacuation points, but to the extermination of variants, so in the cases where a new variant appears, if they are unable to defend themselves, the evacuation point will collapse from the inside.

Did Rona calculate all this factors when she caused this uproar?

To estimate so many factors, that’s impressive.

There’s the chance that she seriously thought of destroying the town.

Also, from the Academy side, the Purple Coats and a part of the teachers made up units and are moving by the orders of the Academy Principal. It looks like they have succeeded in defeating several variants already.
Well, the numbers have increased, but since they are slowly rallying back, it can also be considered a good sign.

Because once a way to deal with them has been established, the efficiency in which they defeat the variants will increase.

The assistance of the various countries and the dispatch of troops are planned to be arriving, at its fastest, tomorrow into the surrounding towns, and the day after tomorrow they will enter Rotsgard.

Just that, since they are unable to confirm their arrival through thought transmission, this is only the case if the reinforcements began preparing since day one.

In the middle of it, the big-shots called for Tomoe and suggested her to provide support to the transportation of goods and soldiers.

I see, it is certainly understandable after being shown such convenient teleportation.

If it was me, I would have nodded, but the one who interacted with them was Tomoe and Root was at her side.

Regarding the long-distance teleportation magic, they explained something logical sounding and told them that it would be difficult.

There’s a usage limit to the short katana. When released and used, one is unable to use it for all of that day, and if the usage is forced, there’s the fear of breaking.

There are many things that can be done when placing the effect on an object huh.

They were able to think up such a setting with ad-lib. Long lived Dragons are impressive.

Seeing their wide field of vision when moving, I realize my own insufficiency.

And then, from what Tomoe said, today we are finally beginning to move.

When this uproar is finished, there will be several other problems waiting for me. Like: the Merchant Guild and the Limia Prince Joshua.

Even so, these stagnated days are better than the days where I just waited.

Unlike the people that are taking refuge, we are able to use thought transmission, so we don’t feel any threat, and moreover, moving moderately into Asora is making even me feel slightly stressed in this enclosed situation.

“’…In this enclosed situation’, done. I feel like it is long for a 3 day journal, but since we are right now in an eventful situation, it should probably be something like this. It’s not like we will be showing this to someone anyways” (Makoto)

It’s quite abridged, but if it works as a memo, that’s fine.

I leave the room that the demi-humans prepared for me in the slum.

“Ah, Raidou-san. Today is quiet. There’s no uproar worth mentioning right now”

When I left the room, a cat that has about the same height as a hyuman and stood vertically, talked to me.

He is the person that is in charge of this slum, and because we have a connection through the company’s medicine, we are relatively close.

Most of the time he uses Akua and Eris as intermediaries, and there are times when we both talk in person.

It looks like he comes to our store frequently, so he can be considered a regular customer of our place.

It seems being in the slum doesn’t mean he doesn’t have money. He is poor, but it in terms of a living, he is somehow earning it.

“Good morning. It is great that the friction between hyumans is disappearing” (Makoto)

“The conflict wasn’t as bad as I thought it would to be. Well, it’s still dangerous out there though”

“It looks like that part will soon return to how it was before” (Makoto)

“There are some monsters there that are hard to detect, so we can’t lower our guards. I want this tense days to come to an end quickly”

“With this as the spark, it would be nice if the hyumans change their opinions of you guys” (Makoto)

“That’s impossible. They are a race that’s loved by the Goddess, and we are the ones standing below them. A thought that has been engraved will not change easily. Hyumans will probably come to give us donations for a while, but I think that in time it will return to how it was before”

The cat, whose name is Bor, is still young, but with his mature face he makes a lonely smile.

What a farsighted person.

“’Once it passes through the throat, you will forget the heat of it’ huh” (Makoto)

“Hm?” (Bor)

“No, it’s nothing” (Makoto)

“Lately, I have been thinking if we could try using our strengths to connect it to work. If we were to create a relationship with a part of the hyumans here and were able to make a connection where we both benefit from, this turmoil and its bad memories could be rewritten. For us that is” (Bor)

“Right. Today I will be heading out with Akua and Eris. Just in case, I will be leaving a few here, so if you have anything to tell me, please tell the people that remained here” (Makoto)

“… Outside. Understood. Be careful” (Bor)

The ears and whiskers of the cat twitched and showed surprise at my words.

Umu, a cat, nice.

“Yeah, you too” (Makoto)

Being slightly refreshed, I leave the half crumbled building.

(Akua, Eris, we are heading to the Academy) (Makoto)

I use thought transmission.

It wasn’t a conversation but an instruction.

With a speed that resembles that of an Oniwaban, two shadows appear in front of me.

“Good morning, Waka-sama. Today we are shifting to offensive, right?” (Akua)

“Good morning. There’s no presence of variants in the surroundings. It’s safe” (Eris)

The words of Eris that were practically screaming ‘I have been working’ are kind of doubtful.

She is not the type of girl that would lie in this kind of things, so I am not suspecting the contents though.

“I see. Good job. We are meeting with the Academy Principal and joining the suppression” (Makoto)

“Shiki-sama and Mio-sama too, right?” (Akua)

“What extravagant members” (Eris)

“It’s fine for you guys to just hide and be on alert of the surroundings. If there’s anything, tell me with thought transmission” (Makoto)

“Yes”

Before the other countries intervene, we will show our presence to a certain extent. That’s the most important point it seems.

Well, for me, safety is what’s most important.

Avoid the battles that can be avoided.

Treasure your life.

If I end up dying, I might even drag the residents that live in Asora along with me. Even if the danger of dying is a one in a million, I will still fight with defense as the priority. That’s how I decided it to be.

When I clearly understand how deep my connection is with Asora, I can probably change my way of acting, but for now that’s not the case.

The Forest Oni combi disappear once again.

Well then, let’s go.

“Kuzunoha’s master!”

Who is it?

A voice stops me when I was walking to the exit.

This is a name that many people in this place use to call me.

When I turn back, there is a woman I got to know not that long ago.

[Ah, good morning Ester-san. You look healthy]

“Good morning. Even if it’s written, that’s pretty stiff you know. You don’t need to be formal with someone like me. It would make me formal too” (Ester)

[Sorry. It’s in my nature]

Or more like, I am mostly like this with hyumans.

Saying it in a good way, polite.

In a bad way, indifferent.

Anyways, I am used to talking with others in a business-like manner.

I was thinking about joining the hyuman society, but I am beginning to lose my drive to do so.

What is it, this feeling?

“Hmph~. Ah, the reason why I stopped you. The accessory you told us to collect yesterday, is it better to collect them if we see them today as well?” (Ester)

[Right. Those might be one of the reasons of this turmoil. It’s not assured until the Academy investigates into it in detail though]

“Understood. We will do so. And, today you are going outside?” (Ester)

[This place has calmed down, so I am heading to the Academy to confirm the current situation of the town and the state of the students]

“It’s impressive that you are able to say something like that so easily. There may be no need to tell you but, there’s only one life. Pride and conceitedness will only lead to reducing your lifespan. Be careful” (Ester)

[Thank you for your worry. Well then, I will leave things here to you]

“Also, when this finishes safely, I will talk with my boss about you. It will probably be advantageous for you” (Ester)

[It is embarrassing since we are a small company, but please do tell that person]

The boss of the brothels. The only thing that comes to mind is a yakuza or the mafia.

Is it really okay to introduce me to such an underground person?

Well, if I have Tomoe or Shiki with me, there won’t be any mess up.

Lowering my head, I end my conversation with Ester.

When I head to the exit of the slums, I tell the demi-humans that are wearing simple armor about my reason for going outside, and enter the street.

It has only been a few days and it has been quite stormy.

When I perk up my ears, I can hear the sounds of fighting and screams.

Maybe because it has been like a daily thing, at the third day I am already used to it.

The anxiety that’s spreading through the residents is mostly caused by the fact that they don’t understand the situation and that there’s no way to know when they could get attacked.

I can normally use thought transmission to understand the situation, and with the help of Akua and Eris telling me, I am able to avoid the variants and the Academy’s corps.

That’s why I don’t really feel much anxiety in this situation.

It is the improvement of the thought transmission that didn’t work when I was summoned by the Goddess. I’m glad we made this improvements.

Thinking about it, an emergency situation where cellphones can’t be used would also create panic in the modern world.

Or more like, instead of anxiety, I am actually feeling cheerful.

The students have heard the words of praise by the Limia King from Shiki, so I want to hear in person how happy they were.

With the information that I receive from Akua and Eris, I circumvent the variants and the hyumans while continuing my steps towards the Academy.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

“Temporary teacher Raidou! You bastard, why weren’t you in the Academy in this emergency situation?!”

[My apologies. I heard from a follower of mine that the Academy Principal was moving to suppress the variants, so I gathered my employees that were safe and was evacuating the residents]

“Idiot! If the variants are taken down, there should be no need to care for the residents! Where’s the need for you, a teacher – even if temporary – to help in the evacuation?! You are in a position where you have to obey my orders aren’t you?!”

[Yes. It was my own arbitrary decision. We are in a situation where we can’t properly use thought transmission, so even if late, I personally came to the Academy]

The place where the Academy Principal is.

The basement of the Academy’s courtyard. It is a secure shelter.

It doesn’t have much space to fit many people, but in exchange, there’s various equipment set up to grasp the situation outside.

It’s like the command room in emergency situations.

Looks like the guests that were evacuated are all here.

There are also several rooms to reside in, so it seems they are living in those.

In the room there’s other teachers and a number of staffs necessary for the management of this place.

As expected, there are some thought transmission users here that are skilled to communicate with the corps. The communication is passing without pause.

And in there, I am currently being shouted at.

With such force that I was wondering if the Academy Principal would burst a blood vessel. He wasn’t showing any signs of returning to normal and was looking down on me like the Merchant guild representative.

But I didn’t get flustered like that time and was just letting his anger slip by.

Main reason is because I understand what I should do, and that getting impatient will not bring forth anything.

I even had the leeway to think: ‘if you are going to shout at me, do it after we go to another room. Wouldn’t this bother the other people?’

“Two of the surrounding towns have gone completely silent. Is it because the people that can use thought transmission have died, or because they have been wiped out? We still don’t know. Listen, this is the worst situation Academy Town has faced since its foundation! And yet, you… you bastard just!!”

Just how much is this old geezer expecting from a temporary teacher?

It is obvious that I would be counted as part of their strength since I am a temporary teacher, but to get so angry over it.

Could it be, he is thinking that since my students were able to fight that well against a variant, I should be strong enough to wipe out the variants? I don’t think his thoughts go that far though.

If he really does expect me to have strength surpassing that of my students and he is so angered by me not being at his disposition, that’s maybe because his purple corps are showing much more casualties than the military gains?

I haven’t heard much details regarding that, so I will ask later.

There should be teachers that weren’t even able to arrive at the Academy and died on the way, and there should be teachers that have run away long ago. If the latter get fired, they wouldn’t be able to complain about it, but the ones that died, I feel like he is the type that would kick their corpses.

I’m glad I only left Tomoe at this place.

If I left Mio, I would have to soothe her later and that’s very difficult to do.

I wanted to meet the students too so I had Mio and Shiki tell them that I would go there later and had them in standby at one of the student dormitories.

It seems that they were faced with several outbreaks of variants, but I received reports that they were able to dispose of them secretly without any problems.

Also that there were some send to Asora as samples.

5 of them have been send, so that should be enough.

“Academy Principal, he evacuated us and on top of that he passed through the dangerous middle school garden to get here. Please leave the reprimands at that”

“?!! Oh, Princess Lily and even Sairitz-dono. That’s unusual”

The angry words of the Academy Principal stop.

When I look, there were two people I knew standing side by side.

“I encountered the princess by chance. Academy Principal, I also ask of you. Right now, instead of reprimanding his actions, it is of more importance to have him cooperate in resolving this situation” (Sairitz)

“Of course, I understand that. But as the one managing the Academy, I couldn’t overlook his thoughtless actions”

When you were evacuating, you weren’t even thinking about me.

Weren’t you more concerned about escaping?

Right now she is not here, but you even had your secretary lend you her shoulder.

Is it because the progress of the battle isn’t going favorably? The Academy Principal is being quite short tempered.

If he was like this from the very beginning, I can’t see him as a person capable of managing the elite academy. If he only has power and authority, and is in an unfitting position, then I would feel more familiarity with him… well, not really.

He is probably in the side that repudiates races. At the very least, he doesn’t give me the feeling of wanting to help him.

“Please, can’t you do it for us?”

“Please”

“… If the two of you go that far, understood. Temporary teacher Raidou”

[Yes]

“I will put you and your employees in charge of the northeast section of Rotsgard. Okay? Show me that you can restore your honor”

[I will definitely meet your expectations]

“Those students that have been sleeping and have been of no use since that fight as well. If they are awake, I permit you to use them too”

[… Understood]

He is a person that says more than necessary.

I was slightly pissed by that.

It’s not like Jin and the others are in bad shape or anything.

Even Amelia was completely healed by Shiki at that day.

With one day of rest, they should have plenty enough energy to move.

I wasn’t expecting the Academy Principal to tell me that directly, but I had Shiki and Mio read the atmosphere of the place and put Jin and the others to sleep whenever a part of the students went on rampages or the teachers went on rampage, so that they don’t end up fighting them.

By the way, I gave them permission to do that.

Just in case, when those kids or the others felt like they were going to slip out and join the battle.

After this, I was planning on going there and waking them up.

I lower my head at the Academy Principal that leaves.

Northeast.

Merchant Guild all of a sudden huh.

I think it is a zone with pretty high importance.

If he wants us to handle that area, instead of calling it harassment by sending us to a dangerous place, it is more like he is running out of options.

The academy related facilities that the Academy is putting their priority in liberating are already filling their hands huh.

It looks like it is really a bad situation.

Tomoe also waited quite a while.

When I look at her, Tomoe noticed my gaze and silently lowers her head.

Just that.

With her personality, I thought she would come do some frivolous talk. Ah, that’s because there’s these two here.

[Princess Lily, and also Sairitz-sama. Thank you very much]

“No need for thanks. You have also helped us after all. If possible, I would want to tell the empire’s hero about this, but there’s no signs of the signal reaching. I feel very guilty about not being able to do anything for this town’s residents. At that time the thought transmission was still working, but right now I don’t know about the situation” (Lily)

“Raidou-dono has helped us after all, don’t worry about it. On our side as well, if only the thought transmission was able to connect… The dragon unit reinforcements and the supplies should be arriving by tomorrow but…” (Sairitz)

… I see.

The reason for the waiting is coming to fruition soon huh.

Tomoe suddenly told us to move today most likely because of Sairitz-san’s dragon unit that’s supposed to be coming tomorrow.

[I will do my best so that both of you will not be wounded in Rotsgard. No need to worry]

“Your words make me happy, Raidou. I would like to talk with you once, before going back to the Empire. When things get calmer, can you?” (Lily)

The princess-sama of the country where the hero is huh.

The Limia King’s way of talking felt as if he had been quite influenced by the hero.

Is this person the same?

I feel like her way of talking to me politely is Japanese-like but… meeting her alone, I don’t think I would be able to stand it.

Ah, that’s right.

[Of course. I will be bringing along my close aide Tomoe to meet you, Princess-sama]

“… Yeah… I will be looking forward to it” (Lily)

Great.

If I bring someone she already knows like Tomoe, there’s no worries for awkward silences.

“Raidou-dono, the things called variants are scary opponents that even the Academy’s elites are having a hard time with. Please be careful” (Sairitz)

[There’s Tomoe too, so it’s okay. She is really strong after all. Thanks for worrying, Sairitz-sama]

“You are going to bring her too?” (Sairitz)

[The Academy Principal told me to use my employees as well. Tomoe is a reliable subordinate]

“That’s true. In these few days, we were able to live without worries. It’s not good to retain her for so long. I will be praying for your well return, Raidou-dono” (Sairitz)

[Well then, let’s go Tomoe]

“Yes” (Tomoe)

When I leave the basement, the brightness dazzles me for a second.

There’s light down there, but as expected, it is completely different from the light of the outside.

While my eyes were getting accustomed, I head in quick pace to the student dormitory that’s being used as a refuge.

“It’s a good start. Well then, let’s call for Mio and Shiki and have them put everything in order” (Tomoe)

[Right]

“Also, you were calm when talking with the Academy Principal. There was an unexpected lifeboat, but it was superb. I also think that it was a good move having me accompany you when meeting the Empire’s princess” (Tomoe)

[For some reason I was able to calmly deal with it. I am fine if you tell me after the northeast sweeping begins, I want to you to tell me about the explanation you gave them of the teleportation again. I want to match our ideas]

“Understood” (Tomoe)

If there’s a mess up, I am pretty sure it would be from my part after all.

I have to review as much as I can.

[I am looking forward to the picture you and Root created]

There will definitely be scary parts in it, that I believe won’t become a plus for me.

If I am going to use power, I also have to accept things like this.

“Leave it to me. For now, think about how you will act towards the merchant guild. I will be looking forward to an interaction like the one from just now” (Tomoe)

[I will do my best]

I am headed to the northeast, so I won’t be able to avoid it.

I will be encountering the representative again, no, I will be meeting with Rembrandt-san. Let’s think about it in a positive way.

I thought of seeing the state of the students and meeting with the Rembrandt couple when I was leaving the slum. Both of those will be achieved, so it is a good omen.

The counter-attack begins not at the fourth day when the reinforcements arrive, but in the third day. In other words, a turning point.

Let’s engrave in the minds of the people of this town the memory of Kuzunoha Company.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

The atmosphere of the student dormitory wasn’t that different from the other evacuation points.

Many students are in the spacious lobby.

A part are outside working around the vicinity, but a sense of fatigue was drifting about in the whole area.

Counting Jin and the others that are sleeping, there’s Shiki and Mio in the place that’s used to nurse and treat the injured.

I stop them when they tried to come to where I am, and along with Tomoe, I go to where they are.

[Good work, Shiki, Mio. Looks like the students are quite tired]

“Waka-sama. Yesterday several became variants, so the people were unable to return to their own rooms. Today everyone seems to be feeling stressed” (Shiki)

“I was bored-desu wa. Crying ‘Are we going to be okay?’ ‘Are we going to be okay?’ over and over like broken toys” (Mio)

[Mio, try to choose your words a little. This kind of incident is a first, so it can’t be helped that they are uneasy]

“S-Sorry” (Mio)

I warn her a bit for her bitter words.

It looks like not many people here have the energy to complain, but I want to avoid pointless animosity.

“Well, that will end today-ja. You two, are you ready?” (Tomoe)

The two nod at Tomoe’s words.

[Then can you wake up Jin and the others? I want to talk with them for a bit]

“They have already woken up some time ago. Their body is a bit dull right now, but having them half-asleep when talking to Waka-sama would be troublesome” (Shiki)

Shiki, you work fast.

Now that I think about it, instead of waking them up when I arrive, it is more efficient if they are already awake.

Even so, I came here to where these two are, but I don’t see the faces of my students.

[Then, where are they right now?]

“Over there. Their condition is being checked. I think they will be returning soon” (Shiki)

[I see. Then, everyone please stay here. Prepare so that we can leave as soon as possible. I will go talk to them for a bit]

Saying so, I confirm the consent of all my followers.

Talking with people wearing white robe, I move to a place where there are familiar faces.

[It’s been a while, Jin, everyone]

“Sensei!”

Oooh, they synched perfectly.

Their timing was exact.

[I heard you were sleeping for three days. How’s everyone’s condition?]

“We are already fine. To think that we would be sleeping for 3 days, I can’t believe it”

“How’s the situation? It looks like it is not the same as ever though”

“I can’t get in touch with my family. Do you know anything about that Sensei?”

From each mouth, I was poured by questions from my students.

Instead of telling them about the situation, I first have to clearly place what must be done.

Or more like, Daena has a wife and child.

Are they okay?

I forgot about that.

[Calm down. You have woken up, but you have been sleeping for 3 days. To suddenly move today is akin to suicide. There are still variants appearing outside. The situation is still in a deadlock]

“…”

[The subjugation corps of the Academy are currently advancing. In other words, the current situation is that students are still restricted from going outside. You were able to get out alive, so obediently stay here]

Hmph…

Daena and the Rembrandt sisters are in quite the bad state.

Their faces show that they totally want to move out.

[You can’t, the three over there]

“?!”

[Sif, Yuno, your family is okay. Don’t worry and just stay here healing the dullness in your body. Daena, I will investigate about your family. Don’t go moving on your own convenience. You have received words of praise from the Limia King. Try to calm down a bit]

‘Were you happy?’ Is something I can’t ask in this atmosphere.

I want them to calm down a bit by remembering the words of praise from the King.

“But… the town is still being destroyed by those guys right?!” (Jin)

Jin.

Seriously. When I admonish one, another stands up.

This is troublesome.

I originally intended to put the students as guards here as an excuse, but I feel like that would increase the work of Akua and Eris.

I was planning on leaving only one, but maybe I should leave both of them.

[Do you want to go?]

“… Yes. Even we can be a bit of use. We were able to fight with Ilumgand” (Jin)

[Then if in that time this place is attacked or a new variant appears, everyone here will be slaughtered. A student turned into a variant yesterday you know?]

“!!”

[I have to head to the northeast section by the Academy Principal’s orders. Jin, even with that, you still want to go?]

“… I will stay” (Jin)

[N?]

“I will stay! If we all cooperate we will somehow, no, definitely do something about it!” (Jin)

[How reliable. I will leave it to you. If you guys do well, I will tell Limia King about your great efforts. Well then, later]

(Akua, Eris, I am sorry, but please protect this dormitory. If Jin and the others leave, I don’t mind which, please have one of you accompany them) (Makoto)

(Understood)

(Roger)

I will leave the perception to Shiki.

I return to where Tomoe, Mio and Shiki are.

[Sorry for the wait. Let’s go. Shiki, sorry but, I will be counting on you to watch out the surroundings]

(Also, can you please investigate the state of Daena’s wife and child? I totally forgot) (Makoto)

I tell them the outline and the latter half I say it in thought transmission.

“Understood” (Shiki)

(I have already confirmed that. In the competition grounds that is being secretly protected by the Arkes, they are taking refuge together with Eva and Ruria) (Shiki)

… Incredible.

He still has the mindset of recognizing strength, so I don’t think it is that far yet, but he is showing changes in his way of thinking towards weak people.

No matter how strong people are, they are all equals and hold rights.

That was the way I thought until now.

Of course, I don’t intend to blame them for being powerless to violence. Just that when the people that spend their time polishing other technical skills aside from power are trampled down by violence, I began to think that it just can’t be helped.

It’s stupid.

A power that I received from a God and a strong body I obtained from enduring a harsh environment.

I was also a kid that had no other good point aside from archery, and yet, here I am thinking this way.

This power of mine was given by someone else.

But I can’t stop thinking this way.

At times I am confused by my own thoughts.

That’s why I am honestly grateful and surprised at Shiki who humanely made a follow-up for me who didn’t remember the family of my student.

Truly grateful.

[Well then, let’s go. First is the merchant guild]

It seems Rembrandt-san hasn’t used the Mist Lizards to attack.

In those 3 days the Rembrandt couple are in good health. The Mist Lizards are doing a good job protecting them.

Looking at the destruction of the variants, I head to the place that has suffered a bitter experience.

  1. It’s too bad Bor’s story is a side story. I like MC’s interaction with the mamo and Demi human communities more than the hymans.

  2. He saved their lives but he gets shouted on like wtf mc will you ever have balls to talk back to people you dont even owe them shit but you bow your head like a betafag.

  3. can’t help but to think each time poor made story .. it’s a web novel, not a light novel right ? if no so where was the editor to help ?? There is just no real plot, to many fault .. the personality of the mc is not even done yet, and clearly change each time to the wrong way; it’s like they trying hard to find it .. and sorry, but not even college guy would be that stupid, this is just too much, the author himself have no real capacity to imagine some intelligent plot so he had to lower the mc mind capacity to the max to lengthening the story and take it with easy plan so he can say by others ‘genius!’ when he do normal thing .. !

The was a time when Japanese where at the highest esteem i can have, the manga were just like second religion to me, a holy scripture .. but the fews late years, they dropped much in my view .. i think contrary to the author, i had overestimated their ability to much …

  4. WHY is the such a pushover? I’m not talking about his “magic ability” but as a person. Even a normal person would be in many situations where they are just FED UP with the characters and say “FUCK OFF” at least. I know the writer wanted to make him a teenager etc but hes beyond nice for someone that has been thru so much already. Also power gives you freedom regardless of what kind of character you are. That is not just an opinion its a fact. No matter how nice a person is, once they get in a position of power they change the way they think very fast (especially during conflicts). And gain freedom to talk more freely. The way Makoto behaves is just retarded, he apologizes to someone random that calls him an idiot out of the blue, even if you made some mistake (or u think he did) doing so just makes no sense. Are you preparing Makoto to destroy humans? Is that the plan here writer? even tho he wont read this comment i’m just pissed off how much he makes Makoto take the stuff in that no person would ever do. Most of us humans even in real world are nice because we have to be, in a situation where we would rage we would mostly stay silent if we risk too much, we are not godlike like the MC or are rich (money also gives more freedom to behave as you want). There is just no good explanation on why Makoto is such a pushover, especially in his position, it affects all of his followers. I didn’t even finish the chapter yet but I had to stop and comment for the first time because i got pissed off that he apologized to the guy that called him an idiot and telling him that hes late. In that situation it just makes no sense to take it in. I wish the writer made him more darker than this over the top pushover

  5. … what a trash that Makoto, rly … she say his acting were ‘superpe’ ? wtf, he just piss me off more and more after each chapter, he is too naive, too idiot, really no brain to use at all, no pride also, he lower his head and kneel to anyone and obey like a slave without any fucking reason ?! what a bullshit he really a complet shit ! what a Hero, what a Human, what a Boss, what a Lord, what a God ?! he just a retard like to work like a mere slave’, i’m realy ashamed for his servants …

  6. Hahh… Finally… I caught up with tje updates… BTW. Thanks for the translates its really easy to read ^-^

  7. Thanks for the chapter.
But the truth turned me boring chapter, Makoto is still the same, talk too much with himself, at least to put a more fuerto character with others who do not like. Really boring.

  8. Welp, this is an interesting turn of events for the poor ex-Princess Lily. Tomoe already warned her to NOT show her face again (well thats how it sounded to me anyways [ch.88]). I wonder how awkward the situation will be when they face again in the future?

  9. [Thank you for your worry. Well then, I will things here to you] => will things???

There will definitely be scary parts in it, that I believe won’t not become a plus for me. => won’t not?

  10. Oh, I just realized. Akua and Eris, those are the two god girls from Konosuba (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!). I’m surprised it took me that long to make that connection. I wonder if that was intentional by the author or if their names were decided before Konosuba was even written.

    1. Not sure on that or if the other girls are named after the same thing.

The authors naming sense might have been similar to mine at times. Need a name? look at the stuff on your desk and use something there. There is a sports drink in Japan call Aquarius, author-san might have had a bottle sitting on their desk and decided to split the name when the name of two girls were needed.

      Aqua/erius

  11. Hum…Not much to say about this chapter. Does this title also applies to us, readers ? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH !

    Thanks for your work !

  12. The principle isn’t wrong you know. Afterall, Makoto COULD have helped and the most effective strategy is ACTUALLY to kill all the monsters instead of trying to protect everybody. Makoto is completely aware of it and decided not to do it. Well, even if that wasn’t the case there is no benefit to starting a fight.t

Lily I’m sure, wanted to seduce Makoto. Perhaps not literally but I’m sure that she would try to get on his good side using a few smiles and suggestive things. The real funny thing is her reaction. Later, on she’ll think that Makoto is doing it on purpose to block her but right now that’s not really her reaction.

    1. That’s actually incorrect, in any emergency situation wherein the life of people is threatened the first immediate reaction people with authority/ power should have is to safely evacuate the populace to locations which they will not come under assault from foreign entities and then prioritise the elimination of threats. The principle is just an idiot with the mindset of an immature teenager who thinks they are top shit even though his own forces proved to be highly inept at being able to subdue an unknown enemy meanwhile the students Makoto had barely trained for a few months were able to “kill” it without a single death among them. This also being accompanied by the fact Makoto, Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki were able to completely repress what should have been an originally hopeless situation without much of an issue.

Regardless of the situation the principle is nothing more than an egotistical bigot who was after something to verbally lash out to. They all would have died there and then if it hadn’t of been for “Kuzunoha’s” forces but that pig cannot even comprehend it showing pure ineptitude in his own position and the world would be better off without idiots like this being in power but considering how haughty and up herself the goddess was I guess you can’t expect much from a mental point of view for the majority of the world’s population.

If the guy had more than a single brain cell he should be instead thanking “Raidou” for saving his own arse politically as the Limian King and Prince(ss) including Gritonia’s Princess, Lily, and the guild leader “Falz” (Root) would have been killed otherwise. Which would have spelled the end of his entire academy and with a highly likely chance of him being sent to the guillotine for their deaths.

  13. Finally some movement!! Makoto’s been idling too long among these yapping dogs, and he’s still too naive about how much his power can accomplish, he is an apex among sheep yet he plays as the weakest ewe and restricts himself to follow the standards of weaklings. It’s been a painful trip the last few chapters, his indecisiveness now is fine because even though he’s in a leadership position, he hasn’t exercised his authority and strength, I just hope he matures and shapes up. And he better do something about the demon race, they’ve been a hassle thus far, maybe he should annihilate every demon in that territory he wants, visit the Maou for a chat and proclaim that it’s his domain now, because I’m not liking Rona for sneaking in this turd under Makoto’s nose.

    1. Why would Makoto want to take over the Demon’s territory? (I believe most of the territory is wasteland, because….the Goddess blessed the pretty hyumans, and they would have taken over the prime lands) Should Makoto just go “Rona make me angry! Makoto SMASH!”

There’s nothing “mature” about going around and blasting everyone who pisses you off and deciding on a course of world-domination.

As people grow older, we learn that just because we CAN do something, doesn’t mean we SHOULD.

Also, Rona didn’t “sneak” this “turd” under Makoto’s nose. Rona was planting “turds” long before Makoto showed up. If anything, Rona should be angry at Makoto for messing up her carefully fertilized fields.

      1. No not the demon territory, Kaleneon, the land of Ruria and Eva, as well as the land that can grant Asora all four seasons.

And I’m not saying going “Hulk” is the answer of Makoto’s woes, far from it. In this world where hyumans say they are united and fight the demons, they are at this time already probing each other’s weaknesses for invasion or strong arming weaker nations into submission for “the cause of unity”. In this, comes along a “Strong eats the weak” or “Many devour the strong” mindsets in both culture and business. Makoto has been trying to insert himself into this system and playing along to be near hyumans but unfortunately, the values of the goddess he hates reflects in her people, and try as he might, the vast majority projecting prejudice and hostility on just his appearance has been heart breaking. Like a shotgun to his self-esteem.

The demons on the other hand are new but have slowly become a nuisance to Makoto’s efforts to fit in among society. Whether it’s Rona’s attempts to infiltrate Kuzunoha and find his secrets or plans like now that create trouble spots and chance of attention on himself, it would’ve been a very trying and very tiring thing to handle, were it not for his capable subordinates.

He IS growing in maturity but its been slow due to his own complacency and naivete, now however, thanks to the constant stream of troubles, he is waking up to see how much he’s flubbed everything. He understands now that trying to interact and play along with hyumans further, is starting to appear moot, training his students has made him realize that despite the vastness of forces on the hyuman side should he come at odds, they’re worthless against him and his people. The demons are now not a people he shouldn’t take lightly, to plan so far and intricately that they’re more than happy to leave and trigger such chaos around him, shows that they too have treated him like the hyumans.

He is an “Apex” because in terms of military, agricultural, medical, magical and technological power. His Asora is a pocket nation that can rival Gritonia and Limia. Understandably until can can jam the goddess from summoning him, he cannot announce to the world his power and properly defend and attack with impunity. And yes, though Rona’s agents have technically been present before Makoto’s arrival, it’s still pretty much as annoying as a dog shitting in your house, then finding it later.

I never said he should “smash” or “blast” anything, he’s just been too meek to confront anything, and even when he plans to move he backtracks with second thoughts and calls it off. His “authority and strength” is the power of money and connections he’s already formed, though it’s mainly Rembrandt, his influence and support could’ve aided Makoto, yet he hesitates because he “doesn’t anyone involved”, foolish, there was a friend he could’ve called for help but now dragged into his mess because he let everything snowball.

      2. So, it’s a bit late of a response (on my part).

I do appreciate your more nuanced view. That being said, it’s a bit contradictory to your previous statement.

Because Rona angered him, you thought he should slaughter every demon in Kaleneon. For what you have conceded is an annoyance. And your analogy of the dog pooping in your house is a bit off, because Rotsgard is not his house. A more accurate description might be the annoyance that comes from stepping on a turd while in a public park. And given the amount of inconvenience to Raidou, he didn’t step on the turd. But he got to see everyone else do so. And it just so happens that Raidou sells special turd-cleaning wash.

And for what is actually a golden opportunity for him, your suggestion is that he declare war on the Demons (who you acknowledge as being both hard-working and crafty) by wiping out a small town and go “Dis here is my turf, live long and suck it.” If that’s not a “Hulk Smash” solution…

  14. Thx 4 the chap!!!!😘

Kuzunoha com• power is getting exposed little by little to the population too…wow. Now Raido own one also from a pimp…😂

I’m a bit worried about the merchant rapp., I think Makoto misunderstood his word the first time…maybe what Rembrant-shi said about him was true(that he isn’t a bad person but he doesn’t choose word well)…and he’ll get murdered by Mio in a plenty gruesome way😱….

    Well we’ll see….

  15. What was this shitty oldman getting angry about, really? No, why was he even getting angry with his saviour in the first place? Mio should really update her targets list. We were reminded in the previous chapter that Mio (and even the other 2, afterall) aren’t hyumans, nor humans, nor demihumans, nor demons. They’re simply monsters. Cold, calculating, ruthless monsters, who care for nothing but Makoto. And I really think these 3 monsters should be unleashed on the world and on Makoto’s opponents (calling them “enemies” would be a bit of a stretch) once in a while, just to let the world know (and later, remind) that there’s a new boss in town. A big boss. Step up your game already, Makoto. Stop being so damn beta (AKA japanese) …

    1. because in they are still holding back because of makoto to them makoto is a king piece the highest piece but doesn’t move freely and their guard (tomoe, mio, shiki) is a queen piece the seconds important but can move freely so the academy realizing this SHOULD be thinking that if they can make makoto dance in their hands (by making him listening to their orders) they can control the three that can change the tides of war instantly and tomoe realize this so thats why he doesn’t kill them instantly because she wants people to believe that their are naive (sorry if this wrong haven’t read ahead so much cuz the translation from google translate is driving me nuts)

    2. He got angry because he was shown to be 98.23826% powerless in a crisis in front of a bunch of VIPs and the lowest guy on the totem pole (Makoto) showed himself not only to be effective, but all his subordinates and students are also effective, then he wanders off to do his own thing and leaves that ineffective old man to his own devices in front of those same VIPs. Most people would either be angry or depressed in similar situations depending on the personality. That he got angry just shows that his ego is larger than his comprehension of the situation. I’ll bet you the cost of Mio’s lunch tab that the principal will react the same way when Makoto leaves the academy to carry out his plans and he realizes that the strongest teacher (and subordinates) aren’t at his beck and call anymore, but there’s still a war going on and the school is a prime target.

The big 3 will be unleashed on the world in due time, judging how the story is progressing. Something tells me that the meeting with the demons isn’t gonna go that well and the hyumans are also gonna do something particularly irritating to Makoto and he will lose his temper (similar to the time in Zenno) and when he does, those 3 will demonstrate their true powers.

  16. Thanks for the chapter!
I didn’t like the Academy Principal’s attitude. Guess he was trying to be important. Also Makoto dealt perfectly with Lily-b*t*h(I hope this much use of vulgar language is acceptable). Also I wish Makoto’s level to actually increase. I mean he killed a couple of beings, humans included. The variant annihilation should have a considerable experience.
Also, at the end of this ordeal Kuzunoha Company will be criticized by the hyu!ans for not coming to the rescue sooner. It’s just the template thinking of the society at large. So it’s probably gonna be Makoto going to the Demon’s side.
Sigh… I feel sorry for him and more pity to the hyumans.

    1. I like lily though I hate trashmoki. Her thought is closely to how most modern leader (though her hate for goddess interfere much kinda remind me of Oda too) act so I don’t think too negatively about her. Trashmoki in other hand.. Well, the nickname the readers give him explain a lot.

      1. Hmm… Now that you mention that, she’s actually honest with her actions towards eliminating the demons. She does plan in the dark and all but she hates the goddess. Ara… She might actually turn out to be a good ally to Makoto. Just that she supports the wrong Hero. Also she has a bad psyche as of yet. She has the ability to become the villain of this series with her current mindset.

      2. That’s pure white-knighting, Lily sacrificed her friends to Tomoki, used dangerous drugs on them and is in general manipulative and petty. Pretty much the same as Tomoki with all the mind-rape and cowardly attitude “birds of the same feather….” is the best I could say about them.

        1. Wait, petty? Is she petty? I don’t remember anything relating to that.
Also, were Trashmoki’s companions her friends?

My overall impression of Princess Lily was that she had to deal with so much of the hyumans and Bug’s world’s bullshit that she kinda broke. In short, she’s somewhat insane with just enough sanity to still operate efficiently.

      3. Oda? You mean Oda Nobunaga? If I remember correctly, he wasn’t a fan of religions, but I don’t think he was as bad as Lily, who wants to actively wage war against the world’s religion.

      4. @Psychronia
Lily broke because the Goddess went to sleep and her mother died because of that (correct me if I’m wrong but it should be pretty close to what happened),Tomoki was bullied in school and when he received the Goddess blessing turned arrogant so if you are going to pity someone do it for both.
PS. The knight was her friend (not sure about the loli and the scientist) and she tend to overthink and use covered threats to get everything she wants (Tomoe’s katana) therefore petty. It was really overkill to try to get a sword by threatening a merchant escort with royal authority.

        1. All good points. Yeah, I guess I forgot about the details of her trying to get Tomoe’s sword.

If it’s about pity though, I say I do pity them both for what they went through. I don’t really excuse their behavior at the same time. That said, I still like the princess much more than -moki for some reason.

I think that’s a personal preference in personality though. Tomoki is sorta nothing but an overpowered(by normal standards) brat and Lily is at least a high-functioning realist. It’s kinda like how a sociopath(or was it psychopath? I can never remember the difference) is easier to get along with than a spoiled rich kid, even though the former probably has more malice.

      5. Keep in mind that Tomoki’s eye power was given to him by Lily due to the way she summoned him, as in she arranged for him to have that power specifically when he appeared, which is why she can also counter its effects herself. That said, she has personally stated that she intends to use him as a tool for her revenge, and she has often voiced this about others she encounters, up to and including the leader fro Sairitz whom she recently had words with. Lily may have a sympathetic backstory, but she is not a nice person, nor someone that should be easily forgiven.

Tomoki is as he is because Lily herself alters him via drugs. This has been stated in previous chapters, so at best he’s just another Ilumgand, dancing to the whims of women who don’t care for them.

      6. The eye power not given by Lily but the goddess, lily realize the power and use it without trashmoki knowing it had been countered. As I mentioned she remind me of Oda sometimes (fight again religion, willing to sell best friend or even siblings .etc) , she isn’t good but not that evil as well, as a ruler she okay i guess.
As trashmoki I hate him just cause, he demand to be treat as an hero but never act as one. Just that. HIs background is pitiful, to me no. Being bullied doesn’t give you right to sacrifice others just so you can live and still call yourself a hero.
His mental is too corrupted for me to like him as hero, as villain probably I can still stand it but not as a hero or even as hero wannabe. I guess that is why the goddess prefer him over hibiki.
Corrupt mind with beautiful face is an ideal beauty to her maybe.

  17. It might just be me, but I really don’t think that the demons want these variants to do anything except rampage. The fact that the demons can’t control them and they are just running around causing chaos makes this feel like nothing more than a distraction. The demons aren’t the type to be this straightforward, and the variants are too uncontrollable for me to be able to see the demons using them like this. The demons are outnumbered and outgunned. They don’t have the luxury of causing destruction just for the sake of it.

    1. they are just an experiment. Just like the prototype ring. They can compile the result and do some improvement.
With the transformation, they can create turmoil within the hyuman army, so I don’t think it is a waste. and the pet bottle is also a test for their thought transmission jamming device. From what I see is that the demon really think way ahead in the war than hyuman is. Well, hyuman war are all dependence on the goddess blessings, so there are no way they can win unless they started to fight a war without the goddess

      1. if you want to kill who live in the city use poison are more easy.
if this event use for just experiment they should not do in big event and drop many magic divice.

if i take command in this demons attack plan i will sent elite unit to attack vips in this chaos and do same in many city at same time because this plan use long time to prepare and many resource.
after this event hyuman may find way to prevent next time except 2nd version drug can use like tranquiliser gun.

      2. That this outbreak is just an experiment seems likely. It’s possible that they might be field-testing the variants and are planning on creating stronger variants among the hyuman soldiers in the front lines.

    2. That’s a good point actually. It might be an experiment, it might have certain targets.
But when you think about it, this whole incident would make for a very effective distraction. The world leaders have their hands full and have knowledge of the outside world cut off, everyone of authority is trying to control the situation, and even reinforcements are(presumably) deployed-ergo, sent away from somewhere else.

      1. Yes. If I was fighting a war with such an obvious disadvantage like the demons, I’d think that there were better ways to experiment on something like this. The variants are things that need to be used strategically. Before a big battle, inducing a portion of the enemy soldiers into transforming the night before would be the best use of the variants. It would take hours to get any semblance of order back, and by then, the enemy would be decimated and tired, and easily finished off. But causing so much chaos and confusion amongst cities and villages that primarily contain civilians. I fall back to something I said before it was revealed that there was an attack on Rotsgard, there is no strategic value in any of the locations of that area. They can’t hope to hold it, and they are too far from the front lines to expect any kind of reinforcements. It’d be like Theon Greyjoy trying to hold Winterfell. And the fact that the variants are uncontrollable means that they aren’t going to be used to destroy specific targets. The more I think about this, the more I can only call it a massive smokescreen.

      2. Well, the location for the rampage was the city that teaches all of the command structure and elite troops of the Hyumans, taking it out might not have much effect now but it will lead to issues with personel in the future. The Demons seem to be more of a “long view” approach to the war, they have the time to lay groundwork for results 5-10 years in the future.

If Makoto had not been around to evacuate some of the citizens and had his people collect the pendants at the evacuation places that his people were in control of, its likely that most of the people in the city could have been wiped out. Also remember that the guests only survived because he teleported the group out, I don’t think Root would have gone too far out of his way to protect all of them. If not for Tomoe, Shiki and Mio being in the dorm area there would have been variants rampaging there as well with the likely loss of many of the students, over a 3 day period they put down 3-4 variants? The high level troops of the Academy were mostly useless in combat, it would likely have been a week or more before it was brought under control without Makotos people, if they could have survived that long with the constant new variants popping up randomly. It seems likely that some of the satelite cities that were teaching other subjects might have already been erased.

Losing a generation of elites to one incident that was just an experiment seems fairly effective. They also got to test their other measures like the protable jammers as well and see how they respond to a crisis like this. Getting info on how the other side responds when prodded also has future uses.

    3. They’re an act of terrorism, inciting internal panic, especially the ones that pop late in the evacuation areas. But beyond that, the principle ones are the few that specifically shut down the teleporters. The rest are just there making as big a mess as possible, and given the purple coats inability, the death toll was likely expected to be much higher had Makoto not been there.

Also the key target may not be in city, but in the surrounding ones that were all also attack. The plan may just be to cut off academy city while the VIPs are in attendance in order to distract from their actual goal, which can either be somewhere else entirely, or maybe even the city itself after it’s been weakened significantly.

  18. You know there is an easy trick to not get angered by trash fodder barking . Just act as escanor from nanatsu no would act

“Anger ? Why would i feel such a thing, the only thing i feel toward an inferior beings is.. pity”
He is truly one of the best Pride(superbia) out there

  19. Thanks for the chapther Rigokai as always a good one. Well is normal for Makoto to endure the reprimend from the Principal, don´t forguet that even tought he is a temporary teacher he is still a teacher at the academy and the Principal is his boss in a sense, and any normal person knows that there are time and place to talk back to your boss. In fact he is growing up by the fact that he didn´t let his emotion show at the time.

  20. WELCOME BACK! THANK YOU!

    1- Hmmmm, indeed, if Kuzunoha went for supression, the problems would be resolved in a single day, two at most… on the other hand, considering the number of staff avaliable, many ppl would die in the meantime. So I don’t think evacuating first is wrong. Above all, who else is going to care for the demihumans? Good thing that Makoto didn’t get angry, but a part of me wanted that Principal to get a cold shoulder;

1.1 That “teleport katana” was a good move after all. You can make all kinds of excuses to idle by and let hyumans dispair LOL

2- Lily’s reaction… lol It was like: “Raidou is planning something”, and Makoto was like: “so it won’t be embarassing” XDDD

3- And finally for the marchant guild! Now I am looking foward to that!

  21. At this point, I’m not sure why Makoto still wants to be a merchant when he doesn’t care about either the hyuman or demon side anyway (with the exception of those people who he has good relationships with).

    1. In a way, stopping now would be admitting defeat to the ones who call him incompetent. More importantly, it’s about all the effort his followers put in to make this work.

He probably feels that, if he were to simply walk away from this because he stumbled a little, wouldn’t that be very selfish and disrespectful to to his followers?

      1. I think he should be continuing for a reason deeper than that. Preserving his connection to those few good relations might be one. Or maybe he’s using it to help himself grow up a bit more. Or maybe it’s still a cover for when he starts operating in different locations.

  22. Regio-sensei, Cheers for your hard work!

“Or more like, I am mostly like this with hyumans.
Saying it in a good way, polite.
    In a bad way, indifferent.
Anyways, I am used to talking with others in a business-like manner.
I was thinking about joining the hyuman society, but I am beginning to lose my drive to do so.”

Finally Makoto is getting past his juvenile (but understandable) desire to be part of the ‘normal’ society. Getting along is good, but if they’re gonna treat you like crap, they it’s fine to move on to better situations.

I also liked how he let the situation brew for two more days before going to pull their chestnuts from the fire. Once they get saved, they can’t deny who saved them. If Makoto restarts his shop it should go a long way towards keeping the flies from pestering him. Setting up contacts with the slum leader and Ester’s boss will also bear fruit for Makoto in the future too.

Now if the principal could just drop dead……..

  23. “It seems Rembrandt-san hasn’t used the Mist Lizards to attack.

In those 3 days the Rembrandt couple are in good health. The Mist Lizards are doing a good job protecting them.”

    Let’s do a recap.
Mist Lizards are capable of soloing lesser dragons.
Mist Lizards are proficient in group battles.
Rembrandt has 2 right now, but he’s only using them to defend.

The way I see it, The two Mist Lizards are aggroing the variants that come near them, while the men employed by the guild representative are kiting them.

They might even be holding off 3-5 at a time.

And Raidou, their master, is about to step in.

*Readying the Popcorn, Drinks and the Best chair ever*

Anyways, Lily’s smile sure cramped when she got told that Tomoe would be escorting Raidou when they plan on going to Gritonia.

    Raidou, invite Mio too.

    PLEASE.

  24. Exactly, Makoto has a pretty strong mentality. That’s why it takes a lot for him to snap.

The other heroes were treated favourably and when something bad or tragic happened to them,

    – Hibiki gained a mental trauma and an inferiority complex.

    – Trashmoki only values his own life, throws a tantrum when things don’t go his way and became obsessed with Tomoe.

While, Makoto’s pretty much the same as he was before. He only learned how to think about how his actions would affect the company and Asora.

People think of him as stupid for not lashing out when people undermine him, but it’s actually a good thing that he can remain calm like that. It gives him more options to act upon.

    1. The problem is Makoto is introverted to a fault. Nothing effects him because he’s so far removed from vulnerability that he has no need for community, so instead he maintains his secret treehouse club (“no hyumans allowed” sign on the door) and purposefully keeps everyone at arms length. He doesn’t seek any kind of close relationship with anyone because he fears a repeat of the Tsige adventurer’s betrayal, but he even keeps his followers at a composed businesslike distance. It’s all likely a result of his haremtastic school past in the archery club, but it’s vexing to see him act so dense and callous to literally everyone and everything. Like his contemporary Satou in Death March, he simply bulldozes through life and complains hypocritically from his high, empowered perch, sometimes even contradicting himself mid-chapter like with the students.

And while that sounds negative, it’s still interesting, and very “teenager” of him. Often western characters fall into the Spider-Man trope when given massive powers, and typically become busybodies, but Makoto is instead seeking… Well, he really is seeking that secret treehouse club, isn’t he? A little place for him and his buddies to hang out without the rest of the world looking in.

  25. Well that was long. So basically it’s just three days later and things are calming down but not really? That’s the gist I got.

  26. Makoto .. please just kill those dumb hyumans -_- you can just 1 hit the whole town and make another lake..(evacuate the smart hyumans first)

  27. You are a HERO. Thanks for insistently translating this fun story.

However, you seem to constantly mistaking the correct forms of the two irregular verbs ‘send’ (see here: http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/irregular-verbs/send.html) and ‘lend’ (see here: http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/irregular-verbs/lend.html). I’m not trying to criticize or discourage you, but sometimes it makes me surprised and I start to worry if I misunderstood something.

  28. I think the point of this arc is to make Makoto adapt to this world.

Think about the talk Root had with Tomoe in the previous arc about the “switch”. He told Tomoe that the other heroes already adapted to the world, but Makoto had yet to adapt. He was doing things at his own pace, ignoring the ways of that world, focusing only on his store and Asora and that backfired on him. Now, because of the events that occurred, Makoto has been slowly adapting to the world and has finally thought about how his actions affect others.

He needed a switch to make him adapt and the events that happened in this arc is Makoto’s “Switch”.

    1. That’s a bit unfair though.

The other two heroes were both:
      – Favoured by the goddess who gave countless benefits to them each.
      – Summoned into an actual hyuman kingdom.
      – Obviously given true “hero” status.
      – Had the chance to find out how their now summoned to world works.
      – Treated favourably by all they run into.

      What did Makoto get?
      – Treated as something hideous by the goddess including her just lobbing him out to the literal wasteland.
      – His first interaction with hyumans was the worst possible outcome with them obviously directing their killing intent at him due to a severe misunderstanding thanks to his excessive mana.
      – Had no chance to explain his situations since ‘lo and behold, couldn’t converse with them due to not receiving the “blessing” required for communication.
      – Basically had to go from complete scratch creating his own connections into the world with it being sheer luck that he stumbled upon the Rembrandt’s situation which allowed him to establish a touch base with hyumans in general.
      – Even while being extremely powerful himself it will never be shown in physical evidence unless he actually lets loose attacks since his adventurer card will always show him as level “1”. Which again, ostracises him.

Pretty sure the majority of ‘normal’ people would have mentally broken down at the very start if they were given the same treatment as Makoto. Heck, Hibiki and Trashmoki would have both just died out in the wastelands if they were summoned the exact same way since obviously both of them required everything being handed to them on a silver platter to even function in a new world…

  29. Thanks for the chapter.

This chapter was the most fulfilling chapter I’ve read in a while. Now we can finally get to the part where the Kuzunoha Company actually gets some action.

…and what the hell’s up with the principal? Is he an idiot?

The attitude he shows towards Makoto is just wrong. Isn’t good teachers supposed to be valued?

If it were me, I would try to get on Makoto’s good side and actually try to make him a permanent teacher or make him stay longer.

Makoto is just a temporary teacher, he can leave whenever he want to and if Makoto leaves, the Academy’s students will stay as pathetic as they are now. What he’s doing is actually making Makoto want to leave.

He’s a really idiotic principal, no wonder the Academy’s students is that pathetic.

  30. Thanks 4 the chapter!

I hope I’m wrong, but I feel that the reinforcements will include at least one of the “heroes”.

  31. thanks for the chapter

3 days is fine but it was 4 days from previous chapter release.
that i think when i first read chapter name but after read later… i realise that i confuse chapter name with translator’s comment

    1. You should release the translations instead then. I’ll be expecting the next chapter from you before the third day is up, ‘kay?

  32. Makoto getting more mature, looking back 10~20 chapters before i feel kinda happy.

Be more gray Makoto! Kill some! Save some! 100% fair with gray judgement!! Be more like that teacher for evil organization!

  33. Thank u always for ur great work…
    ^^…

The time to move has come, what will Makoto do?
    Level the Academy?
    @_@…

I will things here to you]
I will leave things here to you] ???

  34. thanks for the chap! It seems that the thought transmissions of makoto and his subordinates shows such monstous of transmission compared to hyumans. Once their thought transmission can only be blocked by the bug, but now i guess theres nothing that can blocked their thought transmission i hope

  35. Wow, this chap pissed me off.

    1) We find out the chaos has been continuing.
    2) Might have something to do with necklaces.
    3) Makoto established safety locations across the country.
    4) Was thanked by his friend the prostitute and received a future meeting with a pimp.
    5) Got verbally abused by the principal.
    6) Took Tomoe and Mio and followed his orders.
    7) A possible meeting with the prick merchant guild man was made.

I like this series, but there’s one thing I’m sick of. He seriously takes crap from anyone and nods his head “thank you sir may I have another insult please?” He had tomoe guard this douche? Sure she guarded the students as the priority… but even so Is he trying to become the God of all beta-males? Is that what this story is about?

Why does he keep taking it from anyone?

    1. He still didn’t realize his true full power that is nearly comparable to the bug n his basic nature as Japanese people that bind to common sense and etique…
His follower didn’t let him know his full power either cz they still not confident enough to let Makoto know it…

      1. What are you talking about? He was LITERALLY TOLD that his magic power was comparable to an upper Goddess way back when, and since then his power has literally multiplied. His power, as long as the author doesn’t pull some major bs is AT LEAST 10-100x higher than the bug now. Sure, he doesn’t know how to use most of it, but he’s honestly an idiot for not even understanding or even *TRYING* to understand how much power he has. Any reasonable person in his shoes would go to Asora and try to use their strongest attacks. They say he’s been training at fighting, but it’s clear that the author is just using bs ignorance as a plot device to avoid Makoto actually growing some balls. I’m not expecting “conquer the world” but the fact that he’s a king yet constantly bows to people, conveniently misunderstands the intentions of almost everyone he knows (most prominently the sitting thing when he greeted the races), and constantly debases himself to relatively minor figures despite having more power than a country is just plain unreasonable at this point. Overall, it seems like the author is forcefully making Makoto unreasonably ignorant in an attempt to make him more relatable to the average Japanese person (at least that’s what I assume judging by how almost every freaking JP novel has this problem). Overall, I’d say the premise of the series was about 4/5, the chapters until 100 were really good, but recently my personal evaluation is dropping substantially. Right now it’s about 3/5. I’m not dropping the series yet, but it irks me how a series I liked this much is turning in a super generic direction.

      2. @Light

Makoto knows he has crazy amounts of power. What he doesn’t know is how much of the power he can wield. That being said, I believe he HAS been trying to understand it, and become better at using it. That’s why he has now reached a level where he can crush Root, apparently. That being said, as long as he keeps underestimating how good he is, I think he’s going to continue pushing to improve himself. (To quote Mayuri from Bleach: “Perfection is a dead-end” If Makoto knows he’s already top-tier, it’s a reason for him to slack off.

As for going in a generic direction: how many other series have “super-powered guy tries to live normal life?” I can think of one, “The Devil is a Part-Timer.”

But for series of “super-powered guy goes on rampage showing off how cool he is in the flashiest, most explosive manner he can,” I think describes 100% of Chinese Wuxia/XIanxia novels.

    2. Your argument really doesn’t hold any sense for various reasons.

The only time he really just accepted the crap being dished out to him was due to it being his first instance of dealing with the “adult talks” with the merchant head which impacted him greatly. Now he’s just dealing with hyuman affairs indifferently since they don’t exactly concern him anymore. Didn’t you notice that Makoto was dealing with the principal’s rage with a complete lack of concern? That’s maturity showing right there since he just plain doesn’t care how one idiot out of millions views him.

He’s still a complete unknown in the world besides a sparse few people knowing what he is partially capable of, and even then, all Makoto wants to do with his life in this world is just live a relatively peaceful life doing as he pleases in the world as Tsukiyomi/bro-god told him to. Why antagonise people when you don’t really know if you will gain anything from it? This isn’t a Chinese novel or one that has an idiotic author writing the script so stop expecting him to just go full conqueror mode resorting to pure reliance on plot armour and brute strength to resolve issues.

The few people in much higher positions than this idiotic school principal already acknowledge the currently shown capabilities of the “Kuzonoha Company” so why should he care about a small fry in comparison? Even without that you have all the people (which have more than a single cellular brain) that have been saved by Makoto and his followers who will wish to thank him to the high heavens for their countless actions during this assault.

If you honestly can’t see at least to this minimal level (yes, this isn’t even scratching the surface) I highly advise stepping back to revise over things in a more logical manner…

      1. The issue I have isn’t his ‘maturity’ its the way people push him around. I obviously don’t expect him to go full conqueror mode, and I’m curious as to why you suspected me to feel this way. Why would I do that?

He’s a King. Albeit he’s incognito, but he should be conducting himself that way.

I read like 4 or so volumes of Satou having the power to overcome any struggle without really using much effort, and while he wasn’t full of himself, he at least had some dignity.

When Makoto bows his head, even though he doesn’t know it, all of Asora, Shiki, Mio, and Tomoe are bowing their heads as well. He is the face of Asora, and when he bows his head to anyone, it make less of Asora. The orc assistant (Ema I think?) herself told him to act a bit more haughty, but he won’t do it. He needs to get a sense of pride. How do I describe it? Too much balls make for tyrants, not enough balls make for Kings that get trampled on. I wanted Makoto to have a spine, not a wuxia ruthlessness. If he doesn’t want to rule Asora, why doesn’t he outright step down and say “I no longer make any claim to Asora.” He can’t be half a ruler and half a peasant. He’s chasing two rabbits here.

At the very least, he didn’t have to bow his head so shamelessly at the principal. Actually tell me why it’s logical for him to not have much dignity in general? The way he represented himself in front of princess Lily shows that he is easy to push around, which won’t make things easier for him, it’ll make things harder.

        Take this for instance.

“You are in a position where you have to obey my orders aren’t you!?”

        [Yes…]

        He could’ve said

[No. I don’t have to obey your orders. If I want to assist with the evacuation I’m not your slave. I’m willing to listen if you want me to help, but I won’t be lectured on your own lack of capability without a temporary teacher to assist you. If you have the energy to complain, you have the energy to lead.]

See, wasn’t that a dignified way of saying “I’m willing to help, not willing to be bullied”? But no, we get our spineless protagonist who might as well be saying “yes I’m so sorry to have inconvenienced you master.”

He doesn’t need that job anyway, he’s had months to learn new spells (the reason he came to the academy to begin with was to learn new spells) and still only taught students who know more about magic than he does, doing virtually nothing to accomplish his original objective. Why can’t he help suppress the problem without being this dick’s subordinate?

      2. That’s nice and all but Makoto WANTS to go out and do something to help as Tomoe has let him know that its time to do so. Being given orders by the one in charge gives him a valid reason as well as an easy to understand area to work in. If he just went off and started dealing with the problem on his own there would be little chance that the ones in charge would realize that he was responsible. Look at what happened with his students, every single teacher that taught them anything was trying to claim that they were the reason that the students got so strong. If Makoto just moved on his own, without direction, then its entirely likely that someone else that was assigned to the area would stand up and claim that everything was brought under control because of their actions.

Makoto was able to ignore the Principals ravings because he recognized it as exatly that, ravings. His statements don’t stand up to even a cursory glance, if the Principal wanted to make a public fool of himself in front of everyone in the room and the kings and nobles that were nearby, why not let him. It’s simplier to let the guy make a fool of himself then to mouth off at him. The fact that the Principal doesn’t even recognize that Makoto is a temporary teacher with only 7 students and that he is free to leave at any time just shows he is even more of an idiot. The Principal has gotten too used to temporary teachers that are desperate to make a living at it and suck up to anyone and everyone to try and get more students attending their classes, meanwhile Makoto turns down most everyone that applies. The Principal doesn’t know anything about Makoto beyond the fact that he is a temp teacher (supposedly weak position) that has taught some students that seem to be strong (probably a fluke), he seems more the type that got his position using political connections and pays attention to the people above him instead of the people below him.

It doesn’t really hurt him at all to bow to the guy, and if you think it hurt his position with Lily then you really missed something. Lily is walking on a fine edge, trying to get closer to Makoto but well aware that if she goes about it wrong Tomoe will erase her and possibly her country. She has also been warned by Root to watch her step to not get on their wrong side as they can bring to bare power similar to the Demon Army. A small thing like him bowing to someone that is, technically, his boss is not going to change the power balance between them.

As to your last question of “Why can’t he help suppress the problem without being this dick’s subordinate?”, because he IS the guys subordinate, even if only technically and only for the time being.

      3. First of all, telling your boss to fuck off is an excellent way to get fired, and this guy does seem like the type to fire at the slightest provocation. (I agree that he deserves to be told that, but there are better ways.)

Secondly, what makes you think that he hasn’t accomplished his original goal? It’s already said that he spent a massive amount of time in the library. The story can’t cover every moment of the many months that he’s been in Rotsgard.

    3. don’t forget japaneses people have a very high inclinaison for autority, when a superior shout, the guy has to shut his mouth and bear it.
they aren’t allowed to talk back.

    4. No I think that even if he know that there aren’t many people that can rival him in power or magic…same for Tomoe Mio and Shiki too…but he doesn’t understand the strength of Asora inhabitants and also he’s worried about Toa and co. , Rembrant’s family and his students…

If Raido piss of someone in “higher” position, they could avenge themself to his loved one…

So he must eat shit for now…at least till he gain a solid position in hyuman society….

  36. oh~~ thanks for the chapter.
I get to see the Kuzunoha power at last. (Not full power obviously)
It is a while since they fight together. The last team fight I remember is Tomoe and Mio (show off each other power) and destroy a small town.

  37. RIP princess lily, tomoe will surely grind her good. shiki is the best butler makoto can ever have, the guy is the most useful one amongst the 3 followers of makoto even tho he is the weakest.

    1. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

Tomoe is better politically. She possesses the most “smarts” out of the group so has the ability to ad-lib whenever needed on the spot – the teleportation ability for example.
Mio is raw brute force. Generally doesn’t care about anything that isn’t related to Makoto so that’s about it there but she can bring about help if required on medical terms.
Shiki is technical. He has a weaker mentality than the other two under Makoto’s rule due to being the weakest out of them all so he would likely be pushing himself to the utmost limits to prove himself to be useful in his own varied ways.

      1. I think it’s more like this: Tomoe possesses wisdom borne from experience due to her long life, and insight into how other beings think and behave as a consequence of her having peered into the minds of many beings before. Mio is an extremely savage warrior, as well as a natural genius who is capable of learning any practical skill that she believes would be beneficial to her. Shiki possesses a wide area of knowledge accumulated from his days as a researcher, as well as proficiency in a number of acquired magic and skills.

  38. Damn, this was good, but S bit of a tease, i wanna ser a fight, let makoto release the kraken. Some good ol’ punching on da face will do.

  39. thanks for the chapter reading this with google translation is making my head hurt i mean
“now let’s go see the place that him,me suffer” what? so thanks for the chapter

    1. I hope for some good ol’ brawl on the new chao. Makoto has to release some stress, he’s been on the edge too muchas on this arc

      1. I can imagine him shouting “urusai” at something and it completely disintegrates. If at a person the building behind it. If a variant is making noise well its time to say good bye to the variant. xD

  40. I hope later Raidou and Asora become independent power which neutral, or move based on their own interest. And the demon side and hyuman side will try to win their favour…. while raidou just coldly cast them aside…..

    Thanks for new chapter!!

    1. They already are an independent. Unless Makoto, Tomoe, Mio, or Shiki allow it nobody can ever enter Asora so their independence from this entire world is already a set in stone measure as they have no need to interact with the “outside world” to sustain regular daily life.

The only reason they are even in this world is because Makoto wants to be there while having some personal attachments to a select few people; if not for that they would just reside within Asora without a care in the world.

  41. I cann’t remember who is Daena’s in Makoto student team (need more detail like his type of weapon)

    1. The deflection frontline fighter. Uses daggers to deflect attacks and act as a tank for the party from close range, while Jin seems more of a dodge and counter guy.

  42. Thanks for the chapter! Most people seem to think the reference is to a 500mL bottle, but I’m going to believe that each one is actually the size of a compact car, which Shiki can lift with one hand. Because I’m crazy like that. 😵

  43. So thoughtful of Makoto to bring Tomoe along so that conversations with the princess won’t be awkward. XD
But wow, he kinda dropped the ball with Daena’s family. I’m surprised. I guess that means he’s really stopped thinking of Hyumans as equals and more as unruly animals?

Good on him for reacting(or rather, not) to the Principal’s suicidal conceit though. Does the arrogant beration mean that the principal is as incompetent as the rest of the hyumans? Maybe he politic’ed his way into the position as well? Do we have a new merchant guild rep on our hands?

Speaking of which, this chapter’s scene a big change from his reaction in “Raidou Breaks” and it looks like even Tomoe is impressed. Good to see Makoto’s evolved by another step.

    1. It’s not that Makoto stopped thinking about hyumans in general it’s just he had that much stuff running through his head that something not directly related to him like another person’s wife and child could easily slip his mind. The only reason why he has shown great care towards the Rembrandt’s has been due to how much they have looked after him, and how overly attached the sisters are towards himself.

Remember this – he’s still just an adolescent-teenager so there’s really too much going on at this moment for him to completely grasp. Meanwhile personal connections always take a larger hold in a person’s heart hence why he doesn’t really care too much about others due to his overall poor treatment.

    2. Well you know, he probably hasn’t met the person’s family or anything. Whereas he personally knows the sisters’ parents and would have saved them regardless.

  44. i think when he talks about the size of the magic devices he is using a 500ml plastic bottle as a reference to them.

  45. He showed me one and it was pretty small. It is cylinder shaped with a size of around 500 pet bottles.
    ->
He showed me one and it was pretty small. It is cylinder shaped with a size of around 500 ml pet bottles.
its a 500 ml pet bottles

  46. when they say its 500 PET bottles, its the water bottles by nestle. just think of them as wrapped around with 500 water bottles

    1. I came here ASAP after getting email and theres already >5 comments. You guys are fast!

Did you guys really comment in the first few seconds the chapter got released by Reigokai? dayum

    1. Ah spoiler-sama is this piece of trash who somehow assumes role as academy principal one of character you hate in this series ? Since seriously it’s kinda rare nowadays to find IRL reference for scum of life :v
People says Ilumgad an asshole, I says will this what you call asshole

    2. Time for the actual comment.

The worst part of the shit shower is over, but things are still going to drag on for a bit. Spoiler-san can’t really give any proper spoilers right now, but Spoiler-san can tell you to look forward to when Lime and Mondo get in the “limelight” 😛 Seriously though, those two are a good team. Also, look forward to when Makoto makes it to the Merchant Guild.

    1. Hey! It’s been a while since I’ve seen you here!

You never did say if you wanted to join me in the feast.

    1. “He showed me one and it was pretty small. It is cylinder shaped with a size of around 500 pet bottles. ”

This is most likely a reference to 500 ml pet bottles to give it a general shape instead of squat glass jar for 500 ml. 500 ml ~ 1 pint.

    2. I am really looking forward to the day that after Makoto saved the Academy town instead of being praised as a Hero his company will be scorned and blamed for all the damage that occured because they have such a strength yet they hide it resulting to this tragedy making Makoto leave the Hyuman society with pure disgust on the Hyuman race that way Root’s dream of wanting Makoto to change into something would come true and thus the true plot will begin >:D

      1. I’m getting less and less empathetic with Makoto; the dude is turning corrupt. First, he forces his students into a death-match against one of their own as “training”. Second, he chooses NOT to stop a terrorist attack on a place of higher learning, aka INNOCENT students- imagine if ISIS bombed/attacked MIT or Stanford. Rather than be disgusted with the methods of attack, he’s impressed by them. Yup, he’s impressed with how the demons have randomly destroyed the city of those who consider the city a haven of anonymity, a neutral city unafilliated with the 4 powers. I’m not sure how much more I can take from this M.C. If he’s labeled a villain for not stopping this attack then he deserves every boo and hiss he get, he’s too busy playing the victim from getting a tongue lashing from a local competitor. Boohoo. Life’s unfair. At least your journal understands you Makoto…

      2. impossible. if he had spearheaded the offensive then almost every student and civilian would be dead along with the leaders that he was protecting. you forget that a lot of random people were under the delayed influence of that drug and most evacuation shelters that were not protected were destroyed.

no matter what he did, the academy town was doomed from the start.

      3. Yeesh..such vitriol.

Remember who rebuffed him first. Reme.bertino that Makoto based no allegiance nor obligation to anyone. To assume that everyone must put someone else first is a farce.

Concerning his admiration of the demons… yes, many would applaud it. It requires a lot of patience and coordination to get things in place. Would you be more impressed if it wasn’t done in order? Like a declaration of war after an attack on Pearl Harbor? The demons are at war with the Hymans.

Students sometimes need real experience to grow. Note that they had several people watch them to keep things in check.
I suppose humans are horrible people, especially when they observe animals eating each other. That’s rather similar to a HUMAN watching Hyman and demons fight yes? Or is the idea that something humanoid dying abhorrent? No more Diablo for anyone. Convert the monsters!
