Chapter 131: A certain student’s background (Lower) ~Undercover actions~

Raidou was appointed as a teacher in the Academy.

Moreover, he has obtained popularity in one portion of the students.

Ilumgand has been ingesting the medicine that the student gave him before.

From what he could tell, there were no secondary effects, just like that person said. His physical strength and magic power became stronger.

That strengthening is continuing even now.

The strengthened power increased his leveling speed, and his level reached 70.

“Raidou. That guy is even moving around the academy!”

But the irritation of Ilumgand didn’t stop.

It was a simple matter.

Even when he obtained power, Ilumgand has been unable to meet with Ruria.

Not only that, he has received reports several times of Raidou and Shiki going to Gotetsu and conversing with Ruria in a friendly manner.

There’s no way that’s amusing for him.

The one there is not supposed to be Raidou, but him, Ilumgand.

The being that has stolen the place he was supposed to enter and the smile he was supposed to receive.

Inside of him, Raidou had become an existence that was worthy of being killed.

Moreover, he lost to a student that is taking the classes of Raidou.

Ilumgand put pressure in the people and stopped the attendance applications to Raidou’s class.

And yet, even with him placing pressure, that student was one of the scholarship students that still send the petition to Raidou’s class.

A defeat is not something that’s okay to happen.

Moreover, that student said this when Ilumgand was defeated.

“Ah, damn. I messed up adjusting my power”

She whispered that and returned to the line of students.

It wasn’t like she said it for Ilumgand to hear, it was more like, her monologue leaked out.

Her name is Amelia Hopelace.

A scholarship students that originated from Gritonia.

Hopelace.

Same family name as Ilumgand.

But it is a female student that has no connection with him at all.

At least he doesn’t know of any connection with her.

Amelia has not talked to him in any way, so he thought that it is probably a coincidental match.

And in reality, Amelia is not even from a noble origin, and Ilumgand had already lost interest in her name.

“Held back? Went easy, on me?”

What was important wasn’t the name, but the fact that she went easy on him.

Her year was lower, her level was lower, moreover, in a state where there’s no blessing, a girl went against an upper-grade top class and won.

There’s no way he could accept that.

“You are Raidou’s! That Raidou’s student right?! Don’t mess around! Don’t mess with me!!!”

Little by little, unconsciously, he lost his ability to control his emotions.

Slowly, without stopping, it silently progressed.

At that time, his countenance, rigidness, and forcefulness increased, and the amount of people hanging around him decreased.

After he returned to his room, the rumors of him losing his temper slowly spread around.

The room was especially bad today.

He shoved away the furniture around, and the breaking sounds and screams resonated even on the outside.

After raging for a while, Ilumgand sat on his couch and suddenly yelled.

“Oi, reinstated! Oi, are you there?!”

Thought transmission.

He didn’t need to say it out loud, and yet, Ilumgand voiced out what he was saying in his thought transmission.

Proof that he is quite irritated.

(… Sorry. I was doing something. Ilum-sama, what’s wrong? Are you running out of medicine?)

The voice that responded to the yell, was a glossy voice.

It is the person in duty that hears out the progress reports after he received the medicine.

When the student said superior, Ilumgand thought that it would be a male, but when he connected the thought transmission, it was a woman.

The woman responded to the emotional voice of Ilumgand in an extremely calm demeanor.

(That’s not it! What is going on?! Why is the class of a mere temporary teacher having more increasing effects than the medicine?! Are you telling me that’s also one of the plans you guys have been doing secretly in the academy?!)

(… Ilum-sama, please calm down)

(How can I be calm?! Today, I lost to a student that has only been attending Raidou’s classes a few times! A woman that has a lower level than mine!)

(There’s not supposed to be any such plan though… Raidou. Are you saying the name of that teacher is Raidou?)

(That’s right! That ugly, mere merchant that makes a fool out of me wherever I go!)

Ilumgand’s exasperation was the very definition of the stupid nobles he hated with a passion.

And Ilumgand didn’t even notice that.

There’s no noticeable secondary effects.

That’s certainly true.

The concerned person, Ilumgand, is unable to notice it after all.

The woman that continues talking with a calm voice as always, slightly ponders when the name Raidou was mentioned.

She thought that it would take a bit more time.

She has been destroying the calm in Ilumgand’s heart little by little.

Just like how his heart is inclined to defeat.

All she has actually done is assist in the medicine’s effect, and has not really placed any suggestions or anything like that.

That’s why she thought that even if it comes into fruition fast, it would need at least half a year. However, Ilumgand was cornered faster than she thought, and for her, he is being completed in a good sense.

But at the same time, being too fast brings anxiety.

The main cause of Ilumgand’s accelerated destruction, Raidou.

She felt that she has to see that person at least once.

Because she couldn’t think it possible that a female student whose level was a lot lower than the strengthened Ilumgand could beat him.

Without saying it in the thought transmission, that’s what the woman thought.

‘At least for hyumans’

Her interest was pointed to the academy town that already had no need to head to.

(Understood. Ilum-sama’s regret, I have understood it well. I thought about waiting for your body to get used to it a bit more, but I will prescript you the next medicine)

(?! The next medicine?! If there’s such a thing, bring it out from the beginning!)

(Sorry. It is because that medicine has a light side effect. For people that can’t control their emotions, it will bring danger, and more importantly, the body will also…)

(I don’t care! I can control my emotions! Are you making a fool of me, you bastard?!)

(Truly sorry. I have said too much. Please forgive me, Ilum-sama. Well then, I will bring it to you as soon as possible. Also, we have a necklace that increases magic resistance. Consider it a gift from us. We will be sending it along as well, so please do use it. It isn’t something bulky, so it won’t be a hindrance)

(Hmph! don’t think such a mere gift will compensate for your previous utterance!)

(Of course. We will not be frugal in our cooperation hereafter, so please do pardon me)

(Those words, don’t forget them!)

Ilumgand one-sidedly cuts off the thought transmission.

The woman that was in a dim room, seemed like she was going to leak out a sigh, but instead, she silently bended her mouth into a smile.

“Fufufu. It seems quite a good wind is blowing. I can control my emotions, huh. What a funny young man. With this, the Hopelace has fallen. Limia will have to move no matter what now. But… Raidou… was it? It would be troublesome if it goes too far, so maybe I should confirm what kind of person it is, at least once”

Blue skin, a face with no horn.

The woman that stood still in the room alone, demon general Rona, placed a hand over her mouth as if thinking something.

This is a story that happened a bit before she pretended to be Karen Frost and infiltrated the school.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

Timing.

I can’t mess up the opportunity.

This is the final step of the plan.

The final phase of a plan that was carefully laid out.

“Until this point, the plan has proceeded in a truly smooth manner. Leaving aside Limia, the problem was how many high officials of Gritonia we would be able to pull, but I didn’t think Princess Lily would fish them out. Moreover, the princess fished the Limia King as well. I can’t stop laughing”

There’s only one worry.

Kuzunoha Company’s, Raidou.

He said he was neutral, but he is also a hyuman. He is an ingredient that brings anxiety.

I want him to owe us, but it will be troublesome if there’s an impediment in our plan.

At least, with Larva there, Raidou won’t be in danger regarding this matter.

It also depends on how loyal that Lich is to him, but Raidou himself possesses quite the fighting power.

In the worst case scenario, it is possible that he would move to suppress the situation.

Even so, thinking about the information relay ability of the hyumans under a chaotic situation, there won’t be any problems.

That’s right. Depending on his posting, the demerit of the demon race will be big.

“Raidou, you accepted the meeting with the demon lord-sama, so you must have a certain amount of interest in us right? In that case, please overlook us this time okay?”

It sounds as if I were praying to someone. Haha.

Even though we have no God to pray to.

“Rona!”

The partner in this time’s plan and also a demon general as well. The loud voice of that giant resonates.

Now then, it is the time for fruition.

Let’s watch the end of the heroes.

The death of all that oppose the demon lord will tell us of our victory.

  • For all we know... Hopeless lackeys might've gotten a hold of Raidou's medicine elixir and he might've already been cured. Lol, what an anticlimax if that was the case.

    • Would be funny if that was all it took.

Would also be funny if Tomoe just read his memories.

      • Haha, what would be even funnier is that even after/with all these events transpiring, it were all within the evil magistrate's grand plan (incl Rona's). Tomoe: "kukukukuku, all seems to have gone well. Next, Waka's world domination."

  • Just when the corrupt merchant messed with kuzunoha company and raidou now is shifting to the demon side, rona spoils all with her "little" intervention, good job rona, pray for the failure of your plan

  • Wish the mc would grow some balls or at least go to the darkside so i could say '' I'm your father ''

  • Woohoo!! Doublee chapters again. Reigokai is on fire, 5chapters in 5 days.

But its just about that stupid Hopelace boy and Rona. That hopeless(lace) guy is actually ok, but a series of bad decisions turns him the way he is now. Such a pity.

And Rona, lol she thought her schemes would work against the mighty Raidou. Keep on dreaming Rona, because it'll never.

I'm sure this chapter will help us understand the next few chapter better.

  • First thanks for the great work, second im bit troubled let to explain.......for the demon race all went good like a piece of cake,Too strong army, better generals, first class undercover actions, better magic....if they pick makoto even only for merchandise in their country il be a boring story.......not only this the way the things has taked seems lead to grave for Hibiki.I hope in better development from the author.........

  • The hopelace guy is reaping exactly what he sowed. Did he think that being insulted and almost assaulted would mean he gets to be forgiven because he wants to be forgiven? Blindness of the arrogant.

He has plenty of chances to show his apology but he cannot out down his own pride to do so. Eg. did he think Ruria would not be able to see him if he knelt down in front of the restaurant to ask for her forgiveness. But its too embrassing to do, despite him having indirectly led a group to attack her in the first place.

Especially stupid is the "oh i'm a noble, i should be stronger for no other reason" rubbish that he thinks is correct and accepting tele-marketing calls to take unknown drugs because the other guy says "oh its all approved. Everyone takes it.".

There is a limit to stupidty. Past that, no one mourns when you die from being stupid.

As for Rona, she had better wake up unless she wants to be crushed into blue paste by a spider and a dragon. She can give excuses all she wants but she will find how absolute power crushes word lawyering if she directly harms anyone connected to him, including Ruria. She's fortunate that the hopelace idiot is weak and has no connection to the MC.

    • I don't know what you think apologizes are, but you give them when you do bad things, not when you do good things. the more you prove he was in the wrong, the more you justify the "apologize".

I never said she must forgive him, but at least he has the right to apologise and try to repair what he broke. that is the meaning of an apologize.

      >As for kneeling down at the restaurant, do you need me to list out all possible methods to bypass physical blocks?
      ok, do it.

      he did bad shit
      he want to apologize
because you apologize when you do bad shit
you don't want him to apologize because he did bad shit
      ok

you know, for someone who condemn the "Blindness of the arrogant", you are very arogant yourself. you appart from very arrogant people use "literally rolling my eyes here"?

I am not saying Ilumgand is in the right,
but sif and yuno were probably worst bully
mio and tomoe destoyed a city because of a bet
we don't know how many people suffered from shiki experiments
the tree punishment by the forest ogres
makoto wiped out thousands, maybe tens of thousands limia's soldiers because he was angry against the demon army
and you think llumgand shouldn't have the right to apologise and try again.

I think I am fairly objective on it. considered what I forgave for the protagonist, I can give a try to this antagonist.

      • Actually, no, he does not have the right to apologize.
He can try, sure, but Ruria is also allowed to avoid him, and seems she was better at avoiding than he was at apologizing.

    • >he gets to be forgiven because he wants to be forgiven?
if he want to be forgiven, he admit that he was in the wrong and wanted to apologize to her before restarting a relationship. it seem very logic for me.
He didn't try to make it look like nothing happened at least, I don't know what you think he should have done. do you cut all relationship at the first little clash and never forgive?

      >if he knelt down in front of the restaurant
first, kuzunoha's member always blocked him.
second, even in taking out the pride of noble, do you know many people that would behave like that? nobody would do that. it would be different if they were married and he wanted to apologize for very bad things, but here, he was nothing to her. she didn't remember him and would only look weird and creepy if he did.

I think you are very salty for the only reason of him being an antagonist, and don't look objectively.

      • Ok i will go to your work place (or school), accuse you of selling yourself in front of all your collegues plus strangers even though you don't know me. Then i will run off and after a few days, want to admit i am wrong.

So i'm admitting that i was wrong to accuse you of selling your body. Now you MUST forgive me right? After all, you say you don't cut ties after a little clash.

As for kneeling down at the restaurant, do you need me to list out all possible methods to bypass physical blocks? Really? I am literally rolling my eyes here.

I think you are very farsighted for the only reason of you not thinking beyond step 1, and don't think objectively.

    • Kneeling in front of the restaurant would definitely be a powerful message, though it's not necessary to go that far.

While reading how he sees himself as "oh so pitiful" for not being able to talk to Ruria, I kept thinking "Dude, ever thought of sending a letter?".

Having a conversation with her might not be a good idea. He made a real ass of himself during their reunion, where he was unable to express himself properly. I don't think their second encounter would fare any better, because a conversation is a two way street, and the two being face to face with each other would be overflowing with emotions.

Whatever he may have planned to say, would either come out wrong, or he might not have a chance to say it, because the flow of the conversation would change.

A letter is the solution. It gives him the chance to communicate it all just the way he wants to. The other party can't interject, they can only choose whether to finish reading the letter or not.

So he gets no sympathy from me. There were ways for him to fix this, but he was too busy indulging in self-pity.

If he ends up dying because of the mess he got himself into, I won't shed any tears on his behalf. At least it seems his death would serve to move the story along (if Makoto learns of the demons' hand in this, he'll be angry with them, just as he's already tired of hyumans).

      • Sure, other methods would work but kneeling in front of the woman's workplace would cause any blocks to be useless. Of course, this does not mean he gets forgiven, merely the fact that blaming others for preventing him from apologizing makes zero sense when such preventive measures don't really work when the woman has a very visible and well known work place.

Letters, messengers, disguises, group invasions, etc could all work as would stranger methods like waving a sign saying you're sorry.

Sure the guy could look like a moron if he uses the more extreme methods like literally shouting his apology from the street but frankly since he started the entire fiasco, that's his to pay.

Then again, since he is someone who takes drugs given by other people without thinking "oh this could be dangerous", he might not even be able to come up with any idea other than "me go in front door. me apologise.".

  • Ok, someone else with the demons? They are a very likeable race not like the hyumans that are only surpassed in trash level by elf race from kumo, and nobles in tate no yuusha

And thanks form the double release

    • I am not.

they fucked ema's tribe for years by using shen's name and causing famines and sacrifice their maiden, to convince them to join their army even though they didn't want.
shen's barriere was lifted without knowing why and rona had a spy in their tribe trying to convince them to join their army. probably not a coincidence.
now, it look like they spread drugs in youth of human side to weaken them.

you probably don't see hyumans in good light because of the hate for the godess, they are bad because of the godess teaching, but probably not as bad as demons.

I think the demon lord said in a past chapter he wanted to take revenge against the godess and enslave all hyumans (not sure If exact)

      • Here is a quote from chapter 15:
"If this plan succeeded it would have been possible to make a world where hyumans were slaves and the demon race dominated. It was also their deepest wish as ones who were looked down upon.
